pregnant belly uncomfortable already

Hello e/o! I'm now 15 weeks pregnant and showing quite a LOT. What amazes me is that I already feel the need to "hold"/support my belly if I need to move quickly and that my belly sometimes even hurts! Anyone else experience this when they were pregnant with multiples? I guess it's just because everything is getting so much bigger so much faster?

yep, totally felt this early on. is weird to be reading from 'the other side' now

get a belt and see if it helps to make you more comfy

lots of pillows too for sleeping. There are all sorts of preg pillows and I d/n try them all. I did one between my knees and had a body pillow to snuggle up with. I was in maternity clothes easily by 12 weeks if not before. Cocoa butter is your friend.

Oh my gosh this is so me right now too. I can't imagine getting any bigger.

Oh Maggie, one for you too!

You'll get much, much bigger. You'll probably get so big you'll look back and not even believe it was possible in the end. But it's also sort of cool!

I used those fabulous secret belly pants from motherhood maternity. They were super comfy and very supportive. I pretty much lived in them until the last three weeks when all I could do was tent myself in one very large maternity sundress!

Oh so nice to be validated. I was thinking it was kind of "in my head." But I really do feel like my body is being stretched too quickly - not so much the skin layer, more the stuff underneath. The area around/beneath my belly button actually hurts.

Intertwined - indeed! Nice image. That'll SO BE ME by the end... summer... no a/c. Oy!

Maggie - we're gonna be friggin' 'uge. Whatcha gonna do?! Hang in there!!!

Awwwww! I like your shirt, too

Kimberly~ sorry to come on YOUR thread whining about ME! I was so happy to see I'm not alone. I like people to suffer with me

I had S.P.D (SYMPHYSIS PUBIS DYSFUNCTION) later in my last pregnancy but this time around I am already having symptoms. I am wondering how common that is in multiples? Skim that link if you will and tell me what you're feeling. The weirdest thing for me is already feeling vaginal pressure and groin pain like I pulled it. Hello! We're only 15 weeks!!!

Hijack away sweetie. Misery likes company.
Yeah, I'm already experiencing SPD too. Poor us.

Chiro Chiro Chiro

Although having your pubic bone adjusted with SPD is like PAYING SOMEONE TO TORTURE YOU!!!!! Intensely painful. But so totally worth it because I could walk again for almost a whole week.

I am feeling huge too
I thought I was just imagining things, that I really wasn't that big, it was just ME not uterus, KWIM?... and then I started feeling movement well above my belly button so I guess I am that big already LOL

I feel your pain. I am 26 weeks with boy/girl twins. I am measuring 39 weeks already.. Pillows are your best friend, lots of them. I oil and lotion in the morning and before bed. My boy is estimated to weigh 2 pounds 5 ounces and my girl 1 pound 15 ounces. Good luck..

The stretching is the cause of that!
Massage the ligaments leading up on the sides from you pelvic area, oil the skin 2x daily, and use pillows when sleeping
Here's me at 37 weeks (I gave birth at 38 1/2 weeks):

LOVE that belly!

That's about when I started getting uncomfortable too. My doctor said it's probably not so much having a big belly, but all that relaxin your body is producing to get your ligaments ready to carry a huge load! It actually got better for me around 20 weeks and then uncomfortable again around 28 weeks when the real weight started kicking in.

The whole thing of the twin belly (and how early it gets here) amazed me the whole time. I don't know when I had to start grabbing/supporting my belly, but I remember how I kept being amazed that my back was "already" hurting like crazy from it.

I did end up getting a belt, and learning how to tuck my pelvis/do a pelvic tilt while sitting anyplace, especially in the car. It already was getting really problematic before 20 weeks, that's for sure. (And our perinatologists' office was an hour's drive away, so I had to figure out some way to survive on those drives every time we went for another ultrasound.)

The belly pictures are getting to me. (And making me want to dig out my "term" photos to add to the "this is where it's all heading" data already in this thread! ) Now you all have me wondering how big you are at 15 weeks, etc. I have a pic of my 20 week belly somewhere. I think it is bigger than a typical 20 week pregnant belly. Give you something to compare to!

I would have to look back over my written record of complaints to know when I was bothered by what, but I do remember that I felt the same pulling and stretching/tightness pain that plagued me late in my first pregnancy, and it was much earlier. I did not feel it as much in the 3rd trimester (compared to what I'd felt around that time in the first pregnancy.) I am trying to remember now if I had the pulling/stretching pain again with the twins after I finally surpassed the belly size I'd reached at full-term the first time (my singleton was born at 41 weeks), and I think I remember that the "growing" got hard again after a certain threshhold, but seriously most of my complaints were about other parts of my body. My back, my pelvis....The belly hurting (skin pain) was mostly earlier. For whatever reason!

And yes to the secret belly pants. Oh yeah. I got some of those (I had a summer pregnancy, too, with twins born July 20) and lived in them all through the 3rd trimester. Although I, too, played Mother Ginger (the woman in The Nutcracker with the huge hoop skirts and all the children run out from under her skirts, do a dance, and then run back in) and had the HUGE, shapeless sundress at the end. It was visually disturbing because it gave no "bottom" to the belly....just followed it OUT and then dropped straight down from there. And I walked slowly enough to parallel Mother Ginger trying to keep all the kiddos under her skirts without their feet sticking out as she moved!

I have all my maternity clothes boxed and was thinking I should find someone expecting multiples because who else would need the range of sizes I needed?!

Okay, I got motivated to find the photo documentation. A disclaimer: I had to use "Paint" to make myself relatively decent in one post-shower hotel snapshot, and dang! Drawing with a mouse is trickier than I'd have guessed! I know the vivid blue "garment" I drew on is ridiculous, but hilarious, too!

A few choice selections from along my journey:

belly with twins at 20 weeks

30 week belly from the side

30 weeks front view

Pathetic attempt at fitting into bathing suit at 38 weeks 6 days (but what a relief the water was!)

the "painted" pic, at 39 weeks

39 weeks along

eta: Wow, I'm glad I have those shots of the bare belly near the end. Looking at it now I really can visualize the two little humans interlocked inside there. One of mine was just over 7 lbs, the other was a little under 8 lbs.
Oh! I have one from 16 weeks I will share as well. Unbelieveable I didn't even know there were twins yet!
