Yes, this was the thinking and that's why they used to do it this way and why some are still trained to do it this way. But my doc says that the evidence is that this is not true (it does not minimize scar tissue and adhesions) and all it does is lengthen the operation time thus presenting more risk for infection. In her defense,
that is what the studies that I have been able to pull from the internet say ... but I am just skeptical -just seems like it's less work for them to do, ya know? It kind of seems like cutting corners to me. I don't know, I just feel like if you cut it open you should close it... so I am a bit nervous. Then again, the faster I get closed the faster I can enjoy the baby properly so that's a thoght - if it really doesn;t make a difference, fine I'd rather get this over with asap....
Either way, I am defintiely glad we talked about what exactly she would do, how and why. I liked that she knows I am concerned and promised to keep that in mind and keep me apprised during the operation.
