I have to shamelessly advertise this show, since my auntie's and cousin are in it!!. i'm not sure if it will air in the USA, since its a Canadian show.. but who knows.
here is the trailer.. it looks great! and i got to hear all about it throughout the taping: my auntie & her family are the ones with the sheep.

No way!!! That's awesome. I heard about this show but I don't have TV... I will get one of my friends to tape it for me. When's it on?

Edited to add: I watched the trailer, and now I can see that it's on at 8 on Sundays on FoodTV starting April 5, just to avoid anyone else asking silly questions like that

Annie's sheep? OOohhh, I hope they show it over here. Can you give her a hug from me when you see her next, btw? I was just thinking about her the other day... I've been spinning up some of her shetland.

fern- so cool that your family is into that. i read "plenty" about 2 years ago. I am re-reading it as of last week! i am leading a book club at my church so reading with a group of people now. it's really fabulous and inspiring. so inspiring that i have planted over 300 seeds in the past week! we have almost an acre and i am ready to fill it with food.

I've watched the whole series. It was good, but parts of it seemed almost designed to put people off local food, rather than encourage it - showing people doing things in a needlessly difficult manner, making more out of some things than was warranted, and they devoted part of an episode to eating bugs. I eat local all the time and I've yet to resort to bugs. Not that I've got anything against eating bugs, but it's not likely to make people say "yeah, local eating looks like a GREAT idea!"

You can watch this show on www.foodtv.ca...just go to videos!

I didn't realize how many shows you can watch for free online... slice.ca, ctv.ca, and global also have shows you can watch online.

I just started watching the episodes online. Very interesting and amusing! Mission is now my hometown (it wasn't when the challenge was going on) and it's cool to see it on tv. I forget how beautiful my new home is and seeing it on film totally reminds me, especially the ariel views. Dh and I even saw people we knew. Dh actually knows the Valley Toys guy who dropped out. We've just finished watching watching episode 2 and I can't wait to see the rest.
