Boatbaby! OMG!! That dollhouse is gorgeous! I'm sure they will sell plenty of those in months to come. Looks like the Holzkram barns/houses I love so much.

eta:

Oh, just opened the other link. So Holzkram and Kinderkram are the same? I never thought of european ebay! It is cheaper than Wooden Wagon.

eta again:

Click on the other items for sale to find THE SWEETEST play kitchen EVER!

I've been trying to buy the one from Germany for 2 days now, no luck.  :-(

I purchased it without a problem.  What was the issue?

I'm so sad.  :-(  The auction is over, looks like they all sold.  It said you had to contact the seller to find out about shipping, and stupid me did that, emailing him and contacting through ebay, instead of just ordering and dealing with whatever shipping came my way.  Ugh.

I would still email them.  They probably didnt respond immediately because they needed someone to write it who was fluent in english.  I'm sure they have more up there.  I would just be curious if you ordered it this week and payment cleared this week, and they shipped it out asap, would you get it before christmas?  I dont know...but its worth a shot. Jan Herrmann from their store does speak english, so its worth a shot.

Still trying.  :-(  No luck so far!  I'm kicking myself for emailing them first, like it said, rather than just buying it and worrying about shipping later.

Hi

I always go to google translate and email them in German, or whatever language it may be, as they may not have anyone in the company that can speak English, hence no response.

I also explain that I have used google translate as the translation may be incorrect and i wouldn't know! I have had great success doing it this way.

Good luck, they are lovely.

I also tried to post in another thread where you asked which ostheimer barn I had. But the thread wouldn't let me post for some weird reason.

We have this one:

Jan does read/write english....his emails back to me were clearly not using a translation tool.  maybe they simply have no more left :(

if its any consolation, this place sells extremely affordable pieces (so if you need to splurge and pay more for the house, these more than make up for the extra cost):

I was very pleased with them.  They don't quite have the same heft as the ostheimer or holztiger figures, but for a small fraction of the cost, that is more than ok with me!

The etsy one is beautiful... I'm confused what "laminated birch" is though... the laminate used in flooring?

I feel like a stalker now how many times I've emailed them!  I've given up for x-mas and now I'm shooting for 3-22 2nd birthday.  ;-)

BTW- Several of the etsy dollhouses have sold. There were 5 or 6 in stock the first day I saw them.

The etsy one is really beautiful but seems a bit too lightweight for my taste.  I really like how heavy the german one looks.  I've become obsessed.  Sigh.

Laminated birch is just thin layers of birch layered and glued together the the grain running in alternate directions (like plywood). It is for added strength. The German ones are made the same way but appear to use a slightly thicker board.

for Rosie Hippo, you can use the code 10PLUSFREESHIP to get 10% off and free shipping.  considering their lowest shipping option is about $15 for me, this is a big savings.
