Ow! Owie owie ow! And then..... nothing.

My water broke this morning. Since then I've been feeling crampy. The crampiness has increased greatly in strength, but still no real rhythm. I'll feel cramps every 5 minutes for a bit... then nothing for 15.

This is so new for me. With both my other girls my water didn't break until I was about to push. And both labors started off with sterotypical contractions. Not something that feels like severe menstrual cramps. Heck, my belly has hardened more during BH before. I'm not sure what to do!

Oh well... every labor is different, right? At least I know stuff is happening since I've been having a good amount of bloody show.

Exciting mamma!! I bet you'll have that baby in your arms by tonight! :

sounds like true labor to me. My early labor with DS1 was just weak to strong menstral cramps with no true pattern...so I dismissed it. However...now I know that cramps can indeed be contractions...and no need for a real pattern even! Your cramps + rupture + bloody show...oh my goodness you are so in labor in my book. Have fun and enjoy the ride!

Well the cramps have stopped completely. I decided to get some rest so I laid down and everything stopped. So I'm upright again in the hopes of getting them started again. It was nice to get some rest though.

Gotta say though... labor AFTER the water has broken is not nice and neat. I think I prefer it the other way around.

so glad you got some rest!!!!

Hoping everything happens fast and easy!

Still nothing. Well, I had one cramp/contraction over a half hour ago. And that was it. I'm ravenous though! I feel like I can't stop eating. Usually in labor eating is the furthest thing from my mind.

Still basically nothing going on. Only about 1-2 contractions an hour. Lasting less than a minute each. Leaking like crazy all over everything though. This is a very messy way to labor (or *not* labor, as the case may be).

And DH let me know that he really doesn't like the name we chose. Now, of all times. So he's tossing names at me. But I'm so attached to what we'd agreed on months ago. So... we'll see what happens there.

I hope things pick up for you soon! My water broke at the start of labor with my son, so I know what you mean about it being messy! Just be sure to keep hydrated.

Your dh has bad timing. Probably better to just wait to discuss it until after baby is here.

The contractions are finally coming about every 5-7 minutes apart. Unfortunately DH just now got the pool going, and that's going to take a while.

Oh crap. It's hard trying to tyupe through a copnntraction. But it's a good distraction.

He didn't want to fill it until we saw that I was headed into a rhythm though. And well... I went from between 0-3 contractions and hour, right into every 5-7 minutes apart. I'm so tempted to sit in the pool while it fills. It's way too low to give comfort through contractions, but at least I wouldn't feel yucky about the gushes of fluid.

I hope all is going well for you! So exciting!!!:

I'm getting more and more discouraged.

The water felt great. Didn't slow anything down either. I remained about 5 minutes apart for a while. Then 3. Then for a time I was down to 2. Then around 6:30 this morning, nothing for a long time. ad a few sporadic PAINFUL contractions after that, but all pattern was gone completely. I got out of the water and had a couple more. But that was it. By then it was almost 8am.

I felt SO tired I decided to just give up for the time being and laid down to rest. Since then I ad contractions at:
9:45
10:06
10:18
10:27
10:47
10:50

I got back up around 11am, feeling a LITTLE more refreshed. I think I've had 2 since 11am.

I don't know what to do. Neither of my other labors have ever just stopped like this. My DH is getting worried. And I'm getting frustrated and discouraged. I've eaten a little and we're going to try going for a walk. But I just want this done.

Well, even though things keep stalling out on you, I can't imagine that your baby won't be here sooner than later. Sending you quick, easy labor vibes!! :

Just popping in to say STILL nothing has happened. Nothing but extremely irregular contractions all day. I'm just in tears now from the frustration of it all. I can't even get a good sleep because I get a contraction every once in a while (still about 1-2 per hour) and I can't sleep through them.

And gotta say... I am VERY unhappy about the fact that I still leak all over the place. Grrrrr.

So sorry, momma. I can relate to the frusteration of it all in a way, but I'm not leaking fluid. Just my dang mucous plug for the past week and contractions all over the place....ugh.

hope things get going again

Hope everything is moving along now! Don't overthink it. I know that is easier said than done. Maybe that baby just needs a little help to get into position. You are doing great!

After my IL's take DD2 later today DH and I are going to work on some positioning techniques. I don't believe she's transverse, but I can't totally believe she's breech. Would explain the start and stop contractions if she's not putting enough pressure on my cervix. Would also explain why I'm still gushing fluid when I stand and walk. No head plugging me up.
