Do any of you know the "proper" name for this type of brick?

This is what our house is, and since we will be bricking up a door, we will need some
Thanks!

I don't know what type of brick it is but if you go to an architectural salvage place and show them that picture, you should have no problem getting some. That style is fairly common (at least in our town).

When you are looking for brick, you need to know the size, (height, length and depth). There is a fairly standard brick size and if your brick is not, it will not work to infill. Also, I think your brick texture is wire cut. To get the best patch, match brick size, color and texture. Tooth in the brick if you want to have the cleanest look and don't forget to match the mortar also (same color, texture) Good luck
