This is my understanding as well. Anyone know how long it takes to get your money? Has anyone here gone through this?

I don't think there is a perfect solution. I think some in the bank (multiple banks if you have a lot of money), some at home, some in gold/silver sounds to me like a reasonable way to spread around the risks.
