Pediatric dentist in the Slidell or NOLA area?

I've been putting off taking DS to the dentist for like forever because I've heard some horror stories from now-adults who went to a certain dentist as a kid. I don't really know many people with kids here though and I'd like to get some personal recommendations though instead of just flipping through the phone book, kwim? Oh, and someone who takes Medicaid is a must... TIA!

We're happy with the Tooth Bus - a free (income dependent) pediatric dental service for the NOLA area. They really took their time w/ my kids' first visits - showed them all the equipment, talked about what they would do, etc. Their phone number is 34-BRUSH.
