AntiCirc Baby Books

I'd like to make a list of baby books that are solidly anti circumcision so that we can make recommendations to parents. I know this one is:

Your Baby and Child: From Birth to Age Five (Revised Edition)- Penelope Leach

Any others? Note, foreign books that are published in English are more than welcomed since the pool of US publications will be small.

Doesn't Dr. Sears say that there is no medical reason for circ? I know the website askdrsears.com says that!

I read the Baby Book and I do believe he says it's not necessary, but then goes on to talk about pain relief, etc. if parents decide to have it done. I wish he would have been more pro-active anti-circ.

The Complete Book of Pregnancy and Childbirth (Revised) by Sheila Kitzinger

She evens calls it mutilation.

i'm glad to have this list going. when i am looking at baby books, the first thing i do is flip to the index, and find what the author says about circ. if it is at all pro-circ or even pro-"choice" ( i obviously don't mean the other pro-choice here) i won't read the book. i am probably missing some good books this way, but its THAT important to me.

Not sure if this is the type of book you're looking for but Connection Parenting by Pam Leo is anti-circ. It's more of a parenting book rather than a baby book, though.

I have the book by Dr. Robert Mendelsohn, "How to raise a healthy child in spite of your doctor", it's a great resource and he does not recommend circumcision. He is also for home birth and is against vaccines. My kind of guy!

He advises you when to take your child to the doc, how to deal with common illnesses and stuff like measles, mumps, etc at home.

Birthing from within and Gentle Birth Choices are both anti-circ.

Not a baby book but in Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom by Cristiane Northrup she says "If I had had a son, I would have draped my own body over his to protect his foreskin is necessary."

I loved the way Penelope Leach wrote about it!
Some of Miriam Stoppard's baby care stuff as I remember seems to be pro-foreskin but not specifically anti-circ.

I heard on here that "Having Twins" (forgot author sorry) is very anti-circ but of course being about twins it'll have a smaller audience.

That is Elizabeth Noble and yes that would be a very anti circ book.
