un-vaxed child contracting diseases from vaxed kids

O.k., this is a bizarre question and I'm still at the beginning of my research on vaxes (and my head is spinning from all the info I've found on here), but does anyone know if an unvaxed child can contract a disease that a vaxed child has been immunized with?

My son is 6 months and non vaxed and I'm wanting to start getting him more socialized. Do you mom's of unvaxed babes get your kids together with both vaxed and unvaxed children?

Could happen. The two vaccines most likely to spread illness:
chickenpox and rotavirus. The nasal flu vaccine is also possible, but debatable.

Most people don't worry, but Rotateq is something to look out for. Even if people wash their hands after changing diapers, they could still spread it around.

I don't purposely keep my kids from other kids, vaxxed or not, unless they are obviously sick at the time.

Recently vaxxed kids can shed some, like Deborah said, so if I knew a kid had just gotten a vaccine I might think twice about getting together. However I generally don't worry about it. After all, the grocery cart I put my daughter in could have been recently vacated by a sick or recently vaxxed kid. I'm not a germ worrier.

I get my dd together with anyone! My friends all vax their kids, and I'm sure most of the kids at the child center at my gym do too. I don't purposely seek out the diseases, but after much research, I'm not afraid of most of them. Most of them are just normal childhood illnesses or have very slight side effects in normal (and especially breastfed) babies.

We decided not to vax dd because we really feel that they aren't that dangerous (well, that and we don't think that the vaxes are safe or effective). If we chose not to vax and lived in fear of dd catching a VPD, I think I would lose all my hair worrying about her. It's probably a good idea for you to keep researching, so you can feel confident about your decision! That way you won't have to worry so much. Try reading "How to Raise a Healthy Child In Spite of Your Doctor". It's a great book and will help to put your mind at ease!

I feel like I already am, : but with more research I'm pretty sure I'll start feeling more secure in this non vaxing decision my gut and brain are steering me towards. That book is on my list; I will check it out.

Does anyone know how long after getting the Rotavirus or Chickenpox vax, a child would shed? (I know the schedule I received from one pedi we saw calls for those vaxes at 2,4,6mo (the rota) and the C.Pox at 12 and 15mo.). I'm concerned with him being this young catching either of these if you say it is possible Deborah. I wouldn't be as concerned if he was older, and his immune system was stronger, ya know? (He's breastfeeding still and I hope he will for quite sometime, but I'm leaving that up to him ).:

i don`t know if you have live-virus polio vax in usa, but here in mexico we do. my child has only one vax but i´m getting him the polio vax (yes, live, just like the rest) because there have been cases of non-vaxed-kids that have gotten polio in school after the other kids got the vax. hate doing it but he´s in daycare and i won´t take the risk.
