nipple abuse

Help!!! 11 month old ds is determined to pinch, pull, and dig his thumbnail into the nipple he is not sucking while he nurses! It is really painful! he gets so mad if i cover up, or make it "unavailable" for him. any ideas????
It is so bad it makes me want to wean..... although i REALLY DONT want to do that!!!

i'm with ya on this one (just posted about it in fact) except it's biting for me, not so much the pinching.

I hope there's some wise mamas with some good tricks because I'll be using them too!!

Take him off and try the otherside when he starts twiddling. It could be that the supply is getting lower in that breast, so he's trying to stimulate let-down, whereas just switching to the other breast and letting that one fill back up will do the trick.
