My ring sling is the only way I was able to hip carry. It's easy to do, supportive, and quick.

At 11mo we used a ring sling, a pouch sling (hip had become just about the only viable hold with the pouch by that point, but it worked brilliantly), wrap tied in various hip holds... Really, she was on our hips nearly all the time whatever sling she was in, except for the mei tai.

Ringsling. You could try a scootababy too.

ring sling or a short wrap to use as rebozo carry and also rucksack.

I use a pouch for this - my carry of choice when going short distances (back and forth to car, supermarket, etc). Really easy to pop him in and out.

My 10-month-old does great in a hip carry in our ring sling -- it's our favorite new hold!

Scootababy is a great option for your dd if she wants up and down frequently. And if she doesn't ask now, she will soon.
It's a strictly hip carrier but I've seen it worn as a front carrier as well. When my ds got past the 1 yr-mark, he was getting quite tall and popping him in and out of a pouch was getting tricky. but definitely do-able.
I also liked the Ellroo RS and Sakura Bloom. Very supportive for toddlers. And it's adjustable enough for the frequent up's and down's.

IMO a short wrap is the most comfortable way to hip carry an older baby. You get so much more support than with a pouch sling--much less stress on your back. I also think it's simpler than using a MT or SSC for hip carries (but I haven't tried all brands). I don't have much experience with ring slings so I can't comment there.

If the weather is cooler a fleece pouch sling is very comfy. Ring slings too spread wide over your back.

Ringsling, or pouch....or even a short warp that you could tie.

Thanks for the recommendations! I've been doing a lot of "hip carries" lately- with no sling, though, just holding her! I think she just likes being up and seeing what I'm doing.

We use out sling, our wrap, and our ergo for hip carries. The ergo works great for our long 9.5 month old when we are out and about and at home. Then, I can switch him over to my back.
