Narrowing palate as we age?

In my teens and twenties I had straight teeth and didn't need braces. In my late twenties I noticed that my front teeth were looking a little crowded - not too bad, but worse than I had remembered.

Fast forward a few years: My dentist tells me that my front teeth are getting more crowded and that I should consider braces. I went to talk to a few orthodontists and they confirmed that our palates are constantly moving and have a tendency to narrow as we age. I decided to get braces but got pregnant before I had taken the xrays needed. Now we have a toddler, I'm not working and cannot afford braces.

Unfortunately, my teeth are worse than before and my bottom two front teeth are actually inverted now forming a V.

Do you think that I can widen my palate as an adult? Would the same regime recommended for kids work for me too, is there something I can try other than braces to create some space between my teeth?

Has anyone else experienced a narrowing palate?

Wow, I had no idea that changes in our palates could be considered typical or at all common in adulthood! Huh. But I'd think, if your palate is changing, then you should be able to make it change back with diet and/or CST. I've read a bit about adults having palate changes with CST.

narrow palate

Unfortunately, as an adult, our palates cannot be expanded as in children. This is because the two halves of our palate become fused when we reach adulthood. The only way of corrected the crooked teeth problem is with braces.
