HELP! I think menthol cough drops reduced my milk supply!

I just read on Kellymom.com that it's possible, although I didn't think I was eating that many to have an affect.

I've had a cough since Tuesday and at night, just to be able to breathe, I've been popping menthol cough drops in my mouth. I've had about 4 a night for 5 nights. I also had a cup of mint-chamomile tea on two of those nights. Well, I weighed my 5-month-old DD2 today (my only child that is nursing) and she hasn't gained any weight for 2 weeks...or maybe she gained some last week and has since lost it. I don't know... Besides her weight, I questioned my supply because:

1) She was suddenly eating very quickly - done in a minute or two (usually she nurses for at least 5-10 minutes) - and then acting fussy and pulling on and off like I'm out and she wants more.
2) This week she's begun waking up more and more often at night and only nursing - again, it only seems to last a minute or two - gets her back to sleep.
3) My breasts don't feel nearly as full as they have been. I can usually grab a boob and feel which breast is more full, but this week it's been getting more and more difficult to tell.
4) She's still wetting diapers, but I noticed her twin brother (who is formula fed) was going through way more of his size diapers than she was going through her size. I don't think the difference is usually so dramatic...but he is a big kid and way hungrier than she is usually.

I was already nursing her every 2-3 hours throughout the day, but today I put her on almost every hour and I tried to encourage her to stay on a lot longer than she wanted. I did give her a bottle of my (measly) freezer stash after nursing her this afternoon just so she would feel satisified and take a decent nap. I also have some Dom so I started taking that today. Should I be able to get my milk supply back up? Do you think it could be the cough drops that caused this sudden dip? I really hope it's temporary. I already feel bad that I am unable to nurse my DS. I really need/want this breastfeeding relationship to continue with my DD2.

is it possible you're a bit dehydrated from being sick? i wouldn't think cough drops and a couple cups of tea would put that big of a dent in your supply, but who knows. it sounds like you're on the right track though with just letting her nurse as much as possible. also maybe you could add some nursing mother's tea and try to eat and get as hydrated as possible. getting stressed will definitely decrease your supply. hang in there mama!
