Compressed nerves or....?

I'm trying to figure out this new pain I'm feeling, and would appreciate your input.

It started on Friday, following a successful external version. It's in the very lowest of my low belly and uppermost thigh, all in front. I only feel it when I'm on my feet. The pain is fleeting, here for a burning moment, and then gone. The feeling just crosses the line between discomfort and pain. I haven't noticed any pattern.

I'm 38 weeks tomorrow. I guess I'm wondering if this is just compressed nerves, or maybe little "practice" contractions, or...? Anyone else experienced this or have ideas about what it might be?

I've had contractions during and after attempts to turn my baby, but mine aren't as you describe. Mine are more like tightness in just my uterus, but my whole uterus. It makes me have to concentrate harder on breathing and lingers for a minute or so before loosening up. I hope that helps.

Well sometimes when I stand/walk I get what feels like a charlie horse in my upper thigh. Is it anything like that?

I'm guessing what you describe is probably just compression on the nerves, but I'm not sure. Doesn't really sound worrisome or anything though.

Sounds like what I get all the time and yes, it's the baby compressing on the nerves. Mine feel like charley horses (but up where you described--way upper thigh area) and sometimes they hurt so badly that they make my knees buckle!! It hurts!! It's only for a moment or two though and then it passes. I only had this with babies 3-5, not my first two.

Could be a nerve, could be a ligament pulling, especially after a version...they've been tugging on those ligaments already.

Sounds like my nerves.

I have this too, except mine isn't fleeting pain, it's "dead thigh" syndrome (goes pins/needles or numb). It has to be the way baby is sitting. Been going for chiro adjustments and it hasn't changed it. Just staying off my feet helps (taking a few minutes to put my foot up while standing, or sitting down for a few before standing again). Here's my self diagnosis, you can google it to see if it fits your symptoms: Meralgia paresthetica

I was going to say visit the chiro for sure, and hope that helps. It definitely sounds like nerves and ligaments being pressured causing it.

Thanks, ladies. I'm thinking nerves, too.

Kinda funny how I'm less comfortable with baby in the correct position. That little head must be wedged in my pelvis now! Even if it hurts a little, I'm glad .

I'm going to the chiro on Wednesday. Insurance will only cover 10 visits in the calendar year, and I used most of them up trying the Webster technique. So after this visit, I will just grin and bear it until baby comes.

Oh I know what you mean. I know something is not optimal, because I am completely comfortable. I could do this another month at this rate, even with these stupid occasional spasms as you describe. I remember reading that it's a bad sign fetal-positioning-wise if you aren't getting up to pee a bazillion times a night - because the ideal position now does press on the bladder. Yeah, guess who's complaining about getting great full nights of sleep! :

I also maxed out my chiro sessions, but she's still seeing me and just charging me my copay and not billing my ins anymore to "finish the course" I guess. She's been really good to me this pregnancy and I'm grateful.
