how much do I love kindle for the iphone?

The answer is ALOT. Dh's parents got me an iphone for Christmas (why when we couldn't afford groceries, they thought I needed an iphone I don't know - but, hey, I am officially no longer complaining) and I have struggled to use it. I am not a technology girl and that thing is so d**n smart, smarter than me. Anyway - we just received an amazon GC and I found the kindle app and how cool is that? I love it. I can read while I put the girls to bed. I think it is beyond cool. And the books are cheaper than buying real books! What else am I missing on this miraculous piece of wizardry?

I didn't know iPhone had a Kindle app!
I've been interested in the Kindle, so maybe I'll see how it is on the iPhone.

I downloaded it, but haven't purchased anything yet. One thing I hope for in life is a book budget, $100 to spend on books a month or something. I'd be the happiest person ever.

Things I love on my iPhone, Shazam, Grocery IQ and about 100 other stupid time waster games. Beam it down has a good free book selection.

Just got an iPhone. Have a few ?s

How much was the kindle? How much are the books? Can you "borrow" books like at a library? And is this "beam it down" an app?

TIA

Beam it down is an app, that might not be the right name. Check under the "book" catagory in apps.

The Kindle app is free and you have to buy them. Most books run around $10 or so.

I have the Kindle 1, and LOVE it. I think it would be cool to also have an iphone because you can sync between the two easily. So if I am in line at the grocery store and don't have my Kindle (although I do take it everywhere!) I could quickly sync the iphone to the page that I was reading on my Kindle. SO cool.

I find that most books are about $6.00 average. Even new releases are usually under $10, which is great. I have bought a lot of good books for around $3.75, and even found some bargains at $1.00! Also, many classics are public domain and are free. Pride and Prejudice, etc. FREE.

THere is no way to borrow or loan books. This is a bummer. I understand it on the one hand, making digital copies and passing them along to friends would seriously lose money for the publisher/writer/amazon. But I do think it would be cool if they found a way for you to loan out a copy of your book one at a time, during that time you could not also be reading it. Doubt that will ever happen, though. You CAN share books with someone if you both have the same amazon account, though. My mom and I do that since we both have Kindles and it's pretty durn cool.

Just get the Stanza app. It's free, has a ton of books you can get for free or to buy, and you can also upload any book you want to it off of your computer. Lots of libraries have free ebooks that you can get from their websites too.

We have a book budget. We have to or else we'd always be overdrafting our bank account at the book store

I wish I had an iPhone now! My mama has a Kindle (ah to be rich ) and she loves it. I have to admit, the thing is pretty nifty!

many libraries have overdrive media available for "check out". This link has a list of compatible devices. To see if your library has overdrive media available, go to your library's home page and there should be a link

i-phone is a compatible device
