Washing Machine Question?

I know fabric softener is bad for cloth diapers. Do you have to clean your washing machine and dryer if you have been using fabric softener in them before you start with cloth diapers?

If so how would you do it?

Probably a good idea. I know that if you use them in the dryer, even not with the actual diapers, people have said that it can still build up in there.

How would you remove the buildup?

I share a washer with my neighbor downstairs and she uses a detergent with fabric softener. She plans on CDing her new LO and is due around the same time so if she does I will mention it. but if not I will have to deal

Maybe one rinse cycle with vinegar?

Sorry, I have never had to do it as I am so allergic to the stuff we don't use anything but Bi-O-Kleen. I *think* someone said to use this - http://www.simplegreen.com/ - and use a couple of towels in the wash on hot water. I am guessing you could also use it to spray and wipe down the inside of the dryer if you needed to.
