Only cold water????

Ok, so I am pooping myself... LOL

I share a washer with my neighbor and so the landlords pay for it. It only has FREEZING cold water. Someone told me to add hot water from another source. Tonight I wanted to do a test run. I ran all my dipes and inserts on an XS load and added 2 huge panfuls of HOT water. Nope still cold. So what am I going to do? I have to go all the way up 2 flights and back down again. How am I going to manage that with 4 kids to worry about? I will have to do it at least 4 times to get it even warm-ish. I don't want to go to a laundry mat and would only be able to wash once a week if I did that. Help? ANyone wash in cold water?

The dryer is super hot tho...

I have never washed my nappies on hot, only cold, never had a problem, no rash no smell nothing. Why are you worried? My mother used cloth on me too as did my aunties on most of my cousins no hot water there either dont stress about it.

I CD'd for a year with a washer that only had cold water. I did cold wash cold rinse, another cold wash cold rinse, and dry on hot. Never had any problems. If I had to strip the diapers I'd do it on the stovetop

I know of lots of moms that wash in cold with no problems. You might want to use liquid detergent, in case the powder doesn't dissolve. Most of our customers in Europe use cold water without any issues, so I wouldn't worry about it!

If you do have smell issues, then you might take them to a laundry mat or friend's house one time to run them on extra hot water.

I did only cold until i started washing by hand and now i add a bit of hot water...cold is fine...if you do get the stinkey's then boiling then helps strip them. Your fine mama...keep up the good work.
