I had a lot of supply issues nursing my now 2.5yo daughter when she was young, Ultimately, domperidone and other drugs didn't help and I supplemented at the breast for about ten months before weaning her off supplements. Long story short, I did everything I could have then and never had a significant supply.
I was diagnosed as hypothyroid 5mo PP with DD. This is now well managed.
I am pregnant with my second and due in August. My testosterone levels have always been mildly elevated. I don't believe I have PCOS, as my only symptom is the elevated testosterone level- no fertility issues, regular cycles, etc. Over the course of this pregnancy, my testosterone levels have risen much higher. Pre-pregnancy, I was usually around a level of 90, now I am up around 140 and rising.
I am seeing a MFM specialist this week about how the levels are affecting my body and possibly affecting my pregnancy. I am curious if anyone else has had high testosterone levels and low breast tissue growth and/or low milk supply. Were you able to do something post-partum to treat the high hormone levels?
