American Idol - The Top 13 - Page 3

I thought the right people went home. Looking forward to the weeks ahead. So glad to have the try out portion of the season over, always relieved to be to the final 12 or I guess this year 13. I loved Kelly Clarkston!

I thought Anoop should have gone home over Jorge. Jorge sang better--I didn't think he sucked from a vocal standpoint, although tonight he was worse. This is the second show where Anoop has sounded not so great in his vocals. On the other hand, I wish Junot had made it in instead of Jorge, Anoop or Jasmine, so I can't get too broken up about it.

Adam did have a kind of yelling thing going on in one part, but the judges said that you had to be over the top to do that song. So I guess it worked for him. I did not like Constantine at all, but I really like Adam. He seems humbler, and his face seems warmer. He has a slight Kurt Russellish look to him in the right light, and that makes him seem more like a puppy dog.

If I could have chosen who went home, it would have been Scott and Jorge. I don't think Scott should have been in the top 13 anyway. (Sympathy vote, much?)

I thought Jasmine was the right choice -- I'm ok with Jorge but others didn't do as well as he did...

I agree 110%.

I also wanted to add that I really like that the judges have one opportunity to save a contestant from elimination. I really, really like that.

double post. sorry.

I think it adds an interesting twist, but it's kind of cruel to make them sing while worried about their fate.

Another thing ... they can only save one person before the top 5, which wouldn't have saved Chris Daughtry. Most of the shockers seem to happen during the top 3-5 anyway.

I'm happy with who went home. I think it's good that they sing before the judges decide. It's like it gives them one last chance to redeem themselves.

Does anyone know what theme next week is going to be?

Yeah, I'm not feeling Scott, either. I wish Junot had made it, too.

Anoop, Jorge? Is there a difference. I always mix them up. ROFL!

By the way, a little thought I wanted to share. I am happy Daughtry wasn't saved, reason why? He now gets to make the music HE wants to make, that is him. If he had the Idol title, he'd be making something way cheesier then is really him.

signing off now to avoid spoilers!
Rainsmom, this is too funny. I agree that Paula looked like she was going to carry Adam home.

It's funny. I keep reading the posts about Adam screeching and wailing. Maybe Adam does that but it doesn't bother me. I like his rocker style. I wasn't crazy about Constantine, though I thought he sang well, or even Bo Bice, and I thought he sang well too. I liked Carly from last season but thought she was too shouty. But I really like Adam's singing style. Maybe it's because I think he modulates his voice and doesn't screech all the time. Or it could just be that he's a fox.

I like Adam, but I don't really see him making it big on the radio. He sounds more like a lead singer from an 80's big hair band than a current artist.

I also really wish Ju'not had made it, he was great.

Scott is totally getting sympathy votes. His voice is strong, but he hits a ton of bad notes that just irk me.

I'm glad that Jasmine is gone. While I thought she was absolutely gorgeous, I found myself annoyed by her voice and fast forwarding to the end of her song.

I agree. I've always thought it was weird that they make the contestants sing right after they've been told they're leaving.

I was saying the same thing about Chris Daughtry last night. I didn't watch that year, but I seem to have heard that he was in the top 4 or so when he was voted off. Every time I hear him on the radio, I think, "He didn't win AI? Huh?" Who did win that year? Carrie Underwood?

On the other hand, not winning AI seems to have worked out ok for Chris.

Taylor Hicks won that year, and he kind of faded away. Katherine McPhee didn't do too well either. In fact, all the rejects, like Kellie Pickler and Elliott Yamin did better than the top 2 that year. LOL

I am still reeling over Megan's Rockin' Robin performance. It was absolutely horrible, one of the worst in Idol history IMO. She even added a "caw caw" at the end, and no one called her out. LOL. Jasmine was even better than her.

:

As far as who went home, it's fine with me... although I wouldn't have missed Megan or Scott either if they had been cut instead.

I like that too! I feel like some really good contestants went home just way too early. Not last night though. :P
