Full Moon Nov 2

When ds1 was born it was right at or near a full moon if I remember right. I was just looking at the calendar and Nov 2 is a full moon. Wonder how many of us will deliver then or near? I'm wondering if the moon will effect this baby's bday

Eeww cool! I found some research that said there was a connection while others said the theory is baseless. It still gives me something to look forward to though!

a doula once told me that LD units fill up on full moons. I went into labor with my son on one of the windiest nights I can remember. I swear it had something to do with me going into labor then.

Now that is way cool! Hopefully a good storm would move in too!

That's interesting. I found this in the March DDC yesterday (just browsing the things we'll be talking about 8 months down the road!). The OP said that in theory you cycle and gestate with a moon timing, so you could birth with the same moon phase.

In theory, you cycle with a moon phase and gestate with a moon timing, so you could birth with the same moon phase. Here's the link.

I checked out, for ds, his conception and birth moons were almost exact opposites. For this baby, birth and edd moons are very similar.

That is sooo interesting, and here`s why: (sorry, it`s a little long!)

I had ammenorha (no period, no ovulation) since Feb. 2008. For several months I took Vitex and Macca and herbal teas with Rasberry leaf, but nothing changed. After reading things about the link between the moon and women`s cycle, I because convinced I was meant to ovulate on a full moon and have my period on a new moon. So every full moon, during last summer and fall, I would stare at it hoping it would trigger an ovulation. I didn`t ovulate, but I did gain a profound appreciation for our earth`s cycles and the passage of time.

Anyway, flash forward to December, when my Dr. finally decided that this no-ovulation thing had gone too far and we decided I would take Clomid. Part of me was a little disapointed I would loose my connection to the moon cycles, but I was getting desperate!

Anyway, the first cycle of clomid didn`t work at all, and the second cycle, the Dr. concluded that I did ovulate, but not on CD 14 like I should`ve, but one whole week later, around Feb. 10th. And it turns out that that is when we conceived, on the only egg I produced since august 2004!

Well, the point of this is, I found out a few weeks ago, while checking our the calendar for an entirely different reason, that FEb. 10th was a full moon. So in the end, even with the clomid, I did ovulate on a full moon.

So, knowing all this, and knowing that there is a full moon close to my due date (Nov. 4th) makes me feel good!

I have no idea if this is accurate or not, but something interesting to look at ... There's a website that you can plug your birthday (any birthday) into and it'll tell you the moon phase on the day you were born.

My birthday - full
DH's - full
DS's - waxing gibbous (I have no clue what that means, LOL!)
My Dad's - full
My Mom's - waning gibbous
My Brother's - waxing crescent
Other Brother's - waxing crescent
BIL - waning gibbous
One of my cousins' - waning crescent

OT, I know, but it's interesting! Looks like for the few that I plugged in, the full moon babies are in the minority.
