This is TMI, and I'm sorry. But I'm reading all these mucus plug stories, and I did some research and found out you can be losing your mucus plug for weeks before going into labor. The last week or two I've had A LOT of discharge, but no big chunks of mucus. Just clear and there's no smell. Could this still be parts of my mucus plug? I'm going to ask my midwife at my appointment this week, but I thought maybe some of you would have some input. I'm just curious, as I previously thought the mucus plug had to be bloody, but come to find out that's not always the case I guess. Has anyone continuously lost their mucus plug throughout the last month of pregnancy and not in a huge glob like most seem to?

For me I have had both, lots of discharge - just the normal stuff (kind of creamy and white) - with some bits of mucous thrown in every now and again for weeks. I have never had my plug be any other color than a white or normal mucous color. It has never been red or brown.
Sounds to me like you may be just having normal discharge.

I've been losing little bits (looks like short filaments, no color) for the last month and a half and seem to have been leaking amniotic fluid for that same period of time. It almost has a sweet smell, it's not like normal discharge and it means changing pantyliners every single time I go to the bathroom, which is very often.
Now tho, it stopped. Just as I'm hoping things will pick up. Frustrating...

I've got this too, and changing panty liners every time I pee. This weekend it was more pink and globby and I was all excited that labor was coming, but now it's back to a wet mucousy discharge. So gross. I asked today if it was a possible leak and my midwife asked if was enough that it would trickle my leg if I was naked, and it's not. I'm happy I go in for a 41 week, check things out ultrasound Friday and can check the fluid level.

Just my experience this time around...I was having enough discharge starting at 7 months to start wearing a pantyliner all the time. The last week of my pregnancy, the discharge was thicker and off-white. Looking back, I'm thinking that was my mucus plug. Definitely didn't have any one chunk. And no pink until just when labor was starting.
