I didn't describe myself this way. I was asking "what aspect of encouraging people to consider quality as a part of frugality was proud, haughty or compassionate"?
I'm sorry I made your thread tense. I'm really excited about my new journey into frugality as of late but apparently my writing style translates my passion into judgmentalism. I guess I better stick to changing diapers and looking for dandelion greens. Best wishes to you all, may you thrive and flourish as you seek to be good stewards of your resources. Leaving now. |
So sorry I misunderstood! I should not be allowed to post late at night when overly tired!
Also sorry if I was overly sensitive about your original post. It's just that I, and many other mamas, have been flamed (not saying you were flaming at all, btw, just putting it into context) many times because we shop at Walmart, Aldi & other similar stores.
There seems to be the reoccurring theme at MDC that we could ALL "magically" feed our families without using those place, and for some of us at least that just isn't true. If I didn't use those places we would have almost NO source for fresh fruits & veggies except for June-Oct. Now, I'm working on getting our garden up this spring & making cold frames so we can have cold hardy crops through most of winter, but for now I'm making due with what I have available to me.
ITA that we should all strive to be as truly thrifty as possible & that "thriftness" should include ideas like reducing consumables, using everything up, and the other great stuff you mentioned in your posts. Again, I really do think it's admirable that you're so passionate about the subject!
