Midwife appointment went well today. Heartbeat still normal, still measuring about 42cm, and my cervix is still about 1cm.... not effaced at all - still really long, but soft. My MW finally decided to back me up on taking Short Term Disability starting Thursday, so I will finally get to leave work after tomorrow!!!
: Hopefully with less stress I will be able to progress more into labor. There is finally a light at the end of the tunnel! (no pun intended).
I have an ultrasound scheduled for Friday to see how the placenta & amniotic fluid are doing. Next Tuesday they'll do an NST if I'm still pregnant. If for some reason I still don't have her before the 21st, the MW will suggest an induction for that weekend @ 42 weeks. I asked her if I could try other methods of induction (like artificial prostiglandins or balloon inflation) before Pitocin, and she was completely on board with me. I want to avoid Pitocin like the plague. I do NOT want those artificially, ridiculously painful contractions, nor do I want to up my risk of a c-section.
The only advantage I can see to going beyond this week is that the hospital will start using labor tubs on the 15th! That would definitely be cool, but I'm definitely OK with having her sooner, too.

Hopefully once you stop work your body will go quickly
:
Unfortunately, due to concerns over lawsuits, they won't let anyone actually push in the tub, but getting to sit there for awhile will be helpful enough!
I don't think she's coming today. Maybe my body knows I've still got some things to take care of in the house & errands to run?
