Blanket lanolizing failed?

So I think my blanket lanolizing failed. I had read some things about people lanolizing whole blankets in the washing machine--which is what I tried. Melted the lanolin beforehand in some hot water with some Dr. Bronner's soap. Mixed it all up. Added to hot water in the machine. Swished around a lot. Tried to make the water temp warm. Added the blanket. Swished around. Let it soak for about 10 mins. Spun.

Now I have a blanket with splotches of lanolin all over one side.

Is it possible it is lanolized, but with some excess splotches?? It's hanging out to dry right now, so I haven't "tested" it.

Should I try some other method? Bathtub?

This is kind of discouraging...

So after "testing," it seems that the blanket is lanolized on one side (the blotchy side, which doesn't look blotchy now that it's dry) and not on the other side.

So I guess I may cut to puddle pad size and then try to lanolize again in the tub. It can't hurt, I suppose!
