Weight gain check - Page 2

I have gained 6lbs so far. With my DD I gained 20lbs and had a nice sized over 8lb baby... so I think that's just around what my body naturally gains.

well, after last visit i have gained 4 lbs and in almost 24 weeks BUT i was overweight to begin with and my breasts dont get larger at all. it seems like you are on track...you gotta figure 3-4 lbs for breasts alone, not to mention your 1 pound babe, the placenta, uterus, extra blood, amniotic fluid, water weight, etc. 12 pounds seems like an easy number to reach at this point. especially if you were thin to begin with. you gotta build up your maternal fat stores whereas i already had my fat stores~ more than enough! i gained 80 with my first, 60 with the second, 50 with the 3rd and i hope to goodness i wont gain more than 30 this time because i never actually loose all the weight after i give birth. ide like to get back to 150 some day but who knows...

I'm 20 wks and up 1.5 lbs.

22 weeks (almost 23) and 23 lbs.

I too being a first timer have had some weight concerns. I haven't been overeating....... I just have to eat. Anytime I don't I feel queasy.

I asked the midwife last appointment about it..... and she said I was right on schedule made me feel a bit better.....

Plus, I've been told it isn't what you eat that makes your baby grow bigger (a worry for me having a homebirth).

Just under 24wks and 19lbs up.

I put the most on the past two weeks even though I hadn't changed anything about my diet or activity level - I even ate better - which surprised me when I stepped on the scale.

I get told a lot that I look small for 6 months (which is nice to hear, I won't lie...). I guess the little guy is getting bigger... he certainly feels like he's grown based on his movement and my stomach looking more like a Budah belly and not a saggy sac.

I'm 22.5 weeks and up 18 pounds, which totally astounds me because I've got hyperemisis. As soon as I started taking Unisom, I could eat, but not the best foods. I'm actually starting to lose weight as I eat better and better food.

At my last mw appointment (19w?) I had put ont almost 10? I feel like that will double by next visit. I am freakin out of control with food lately!! What is it with jalapenos??? LOL been making yellow corn tortilla chip + cheese + jalapeno + sourcream nachos like daily LOL!

I think I gained something in the neighborhood of 35 with dd? I was one of the "lucky" ones that didnt drop that last 10 til weaning...

I am up 6lbs at 24 weeks, but my appetite is in full force now. My food choices are getting a little wild - jelly beans and swiss cheese for snack!!

We are twins!! I just replied in another thread about my placenta situation, and I also COULD NOT drop the last 10lbs until I weaned. I gained 27lbs with DD. My friends were jealous, but without good reason really, because I lost the weight SO slowly. I have friends who gained 50lbs that were back in their jeans before me!!

I'm jealous of all the weight gain! I'm honestly trying to gain right now (while still eating the right things). At my 20 week appointment, I had gained 10.5 lbs total so far. I had an ultrasound Tuesday though, and the babies are weighing almost a pound each! (14 oz & 15 oz) The doctor (my high-risk dr) still said "weight gain, weight gain, weight gain, weight gain" and I assured him that I'm trying.

What are you all eating? : lol

I will send you some of my weight gain. Hmm, what am I eating too much of that is still relatively healthy--- cereal (use whole milk), breads/muffins, whole wheat pasta.

Impressive that your twins are supposedly a pound each! Good work. That would be a nice size for a singleton at 20 weeks!

I just had a mw appointment with a new mw in the practice I go to. At this place, you weigh yourself and then tell them how much you weigh. I told her 141.5, which is 6.5 pound gain in 4 weeks. When that happened with my ds, the ob lectured me, but when I said my weight this time, she said, "Great!" And that was it. Man I love midwives!

I'm at 23w and still at 5lbs.
When I went to the Dr. last week they told me to start gaining weight!
That's the first time in my life I've been told that!

I'm 24 weeks along now and have gained 8-10lbs.

I tend to gain a little more weight in my 3rd trimester so I am not worried about my weight gain at this point.
I've been trying not to worry about this, but I think subconciously I am because I'm starting this pregnancy 20 lbs heavier than last time.

At my 16 weeks appt (last time) I was down 2 lbs, but I was just getting over the stomach flu.

Yesterday, at my 20 weeks appt, I've jumped up 10 pounds! In a freakin' month! However, my other appts have been early in the morning, this one was in the afternoon- after a huge breakfast and lunch AND after they made me wait in the lobby for 30 minutes (by bladder filling by the second) and then weighed me BEFORE I got to pee. The day before my appt I weighed myself at home (which was right on w/ the clinic's scale the month before) and I was only up 6.5 lbs, which i think is more accuarate ('cause 6.5 is SOOOOOO much better than 10, right?).

i'm 23 weeks on monday and i've gained 17 lbs last time i checked. i'm not pleased with this because the gain is really picking up now, like 1.5# a week.

i love/hate my scale too. i like to weigh to just keep things in check so i don't go on a sweet binge but i hate the worrying.
I am 23 weeks today, and according to my scale this morning, I am up about 11 lbs. I am a little worried though, because all of this weight came after my appetite returned at 12 weeks. Will the weight gain slow down in the 3rd trimester? I forget! I gained 32lbs with my daughter and 38 lbs with my son, but hadn't been sick the first 12 weeks like I was with this one. I was hoping to gain more around 25lbs or so. Unfortunately my sweet tooth returned along with my appetite at 12 wks, and so that might have something to do with the fast weight gain. Shucks!

lol What's so funny to me is that it's pretty much a woman's dream come true to be told to gain weight so furiously, but yet when it happens to you... you can't seem to get in all of the calories you're supposed to have in a day! It's like that recurring nightmare where you're running & running, but never get there.

Cereal is mostly what I crave these days, but that doesn't supply much of the 150-176g of protein that I'm supposed to have a day.

Well I think I'm up around 15 pounds and I'm 23 weeks. I never weigh myself usually and I don't have a scale so I have been going to a friends house to "weigh in" on days I have an appointment with my midwife. I know my midwife is bothered by my indifference to my weight.
Last time I was weighed (at 21 weeks) I had gained 5 pounds...I'm now at 24 weeks and I have no idea what I weigh. I guess I'll find out at my next midwife appt in a week.

22 weeks here and I'm up 12 lbs.
