Starting to CD again...

DD is 4.5 and has been out of CDs since she was about 3. I didn't start Cding her until she was over 1, so I only have experience using and buying diapers for a toddler. I'm due with #2 (July) and want to CD this one early on. However, I don't really know where to start. With DD, I started out using pockets and AIOs, but realized at the end that I preferred fitteds and covers (especially wool). So, what recommendations do you have for cding an infant? What diapers should I buy? How many? I'm open to all options.

TIA!

I've never cloth diapered a newborn, but I can tell you that I'm planning on doing prefolds and Thirsties covers at first with this next baby. I really like pockets the best, but I don't want to spend a lot of money on diapers that will be outgrown quickly-- and from the sounds of things, OS diapers don't work as well for newborns as they're advertized to.

I'd start stalking Craig's List, the MDC trading post and www.diaperswappers.com for used (but still in good condition) Kissaluv size 0 diapers. You can also get on the Kissaluv mailing list for their outlet sales. Personally I think they are the best fitteds for newborns. After the newborn stage (15 lbs. or so), I really like Bella Bottoms (www.bellabottoms.com).
