Because the package inserts say:

A review by the Institute of Medicine (IOM) concluded that the evidence favors acceptance of a causal relation between tetanus toxoid and both brachial neuritis and Guillian-Barré syndrome.

I would have to read more about that particular vaccine and if there is a difference between the toxoid that the hib sugar is binded to and the TT in that vaccine-- and the research on the connection...etcetc.

My favorite part of vaccine insert warnings is this:

Quote:
CARCINOGENESIS, MUTAGENESIS, IMPAIRMENT OF FERTILITY
No studies have been performed with Tetanus Toxoid Adsorbed manufactured by Aventis Pasteur Inc. to evaluate carcinogenicity, mutagenic potential, or impact on fertility.
They simply have no idea the impact of their products on some of the worst problems people are dealing with, yet they seem to always feel very confident that their products are perfectly safe (outside of the occasional paralysis and death).

Seriously! All of this "rigorous testing" and they never seem to get around to the possible long term effects.

If you poke around within the veterinary community, you would be surprised at what you find. Apparently, little furry friends are just cuter than human babies.

But don't you know, we're ERADICATING diseases like measles and polio!!!

So what if the vaccines cause cancer, or birth defects, or fertility issues?

It is RIDICULOUS that they have yet to look into the long-term effects of some of the vaccines that have been on the market for a while.

Ok, now my daughter has a fever of 103. I am so mad at myself for getting this vaccination. I am thinking the worse here and have been worrying and crying.

Does anyone know if this is a typical reaction of hib vaccination? I fear it will get worse.

Fever is one of the first symptoms of Hib disease. Your baby's immune system is reacting to the Hib vaccine the way it should react to a natural Hib.

This is three days later, right? It could be a cold starting or something. call your doc if you are worried, that's what I would do. I judge fevers though by the behavior of the child. If they seem fine and the fever is the only issue, then we just make sure fliuds and food are good and keep them comfy. If they are lethargic, showing signs of dehydration or anything like that then we medicate/call doc.

It's progressive paralysis that starts at the feet and works up, sometimes resulting in the victim needing to be put on machines to help them breathe. The paralysis then retreats in the opposite direction (top down). The majority of patients recover fully with no long-term damage, though some have life long weakness.
Hope that helps
OH Yeah OK I've heard of that. It was on House LOL

So this is something that can happen with any infection right?

So do you guys think then that if a person is suseptable to getting it from a vaccine, as an adverce reaction, then they would be with the infection too? and if thats the case.. how do you get around it as it would seem said person is bound to get it.

Did that make sence

*Sorry about spelling..

It's almost 2am in the morning and my DD has a fever of 103. This is a nightmare. She didn't need the shot. I feel like I'm dying inside. We're heading to ER. I pray she won't have seizures or something worse.

How is she doing? You could have picked something up at the doc's office while there for the appointment. It has been 3 days since the shot, a fever now is more likely to mean you got something while there.
