If you've recently bought....

A twin size or full size bed, including mattress, and a chest of drawers for your DS/DD, how much did you pay and if you could point me to a place where you've purchased it.
DS is close to outgrowing his crib mattress and so we're wanting to either convert is bed to the full size bed that it can turn in to or just buy a whole new set altogether, including chest of drawers, and save the changing table/drawer set and crib for the future.

We went to Ikea and spent around $500. I could be off a little because I spent $1300 altogether, but got 3 pieces for the baby's room.

The bed we bought uses a mattress that comes in 3 pieces so that you can make the bed smaller to begin with and then lengthen it later if you want. I also bought 2 sets of sheets that go with that. I do recall that the mattress alone was over $100. And the bed is metal. And we bought a canopy for the bed, a book shelf and book case.

We bought a Flexa bed for ds and paid around $800 for it, plus shipping. No dresser though, we already had one.

Funny, we're in almost the same boat. I just checked out Ikea online, and for our twin girls I think we'll get:

2 Dalselv twin beds for $60 each
2 Sultan Hogho mattresses for $129 each (boy I wish we could afford organic)
2 Jonas Desks in white for $100 each
2 Bertil Chairs for $40 each

About $650 total for beds, desks & chairs. At this point in our lives, as we are struggling financially (and thus the above-mentioned furniture will be a gift), I am picking out the most inexpensive items for now.

Good luck!

We bought ds a twin bed from jcpenny.

Spent less than 200$ since my sister works there, and we bought it during a free shipping special. We already had a mattress, and we bought our dresser at baby depot for 100$ when ds was a baby.

That is super cute and just the color that I'm looking for. Thanks, nolansmummy!!

No problem We love it. There is a drawer on 1/2 the bottom, and its quite large and it pulls from both sides so it doesn't restrict how you have to place the furniture. Our drawer also has little knobs on it unlike the picture. My son likes it too, now if only we could get him to sleep in it

Craigslist!!

We just got this bed from IKEA for DD. With the drawers underneath we don't need a dresser. If we got another matterss it can be used as a double bed as well.

About 6 months ago, we bought a solid wood bookcase bed, twin size, with 2 (huge) underbed drawers on rollers, and a mattress for about $560.00. We got this one, from here http://shop.everythingforthekids.com...&productId=248 They do ship, but I'm showing you the link in case you're interested in looking at the bed and seeing if someone local to you carries it.

FWIW, the bed is awesome... very sturdy, very comfy, and very worth the price to us.

We bought a twin bed on Craigslist for $50 and a brand new twin mattress at IKEA for about $80. Two sets of twin sheets on sale at Target cost another $30 or so.
