Chicken Pox Party here in the South?

I know it's a long-shot, but I wanted to post in the hopes that someone near my area will have a child with chicken pox sometime in the near future and be interested in sharing their child's germs, lol.

I have a 3 and a 5 year old, and they're not getting any younger as far as CP is concerned...

Right now I live in Hattiesburg, MS. I'd be willing to attend a pox party anywhere within a reasonable driving distance, so Jackson, Vicksburg, GulfPort, Slidell, Hammond...anyone near me with an infectious child and willing to discuss a pox party...please PM me!!

We had to travel to North Carolina to find CP!

My daughter had a doctor appointment up there last October, and we brought CP home with us! We feel pretty confident she contracted them at the ER/hospital where she had to have some tests run. She was 14, and it was not fun, but I am thankful that they are over and done with.

Sorry, I would have been happy to have held a party at are house.

i want it too! well for ds, lol. im in ft polk la.

the nurse at ds's 19month appointment thought i was crazy for not wanting it. they saw he didnt get it at 12 months and added it too the list. i said we dont want it., she did the whole well he wont be able to go to school or daycare, yada yada. when i told her id rather he get it naturally, she said that was highly unlikly since it was nearly erradicated

so then why , when i worked at a daycare, did we keep having pox outbreaks (there were at least 3 in the 3 years i was there) in a center full of vaxed kids (except those who werent old enpough for it yet)??

LOL! Now see.... then why would it need to be manditory?? That doesn't make sense to me at all... I don't get doctors (or nurses) Guess that's why we only go to them when we have to... I hate fighting with them.. lol

I'm open for a pox party... I'm in Northern MS... I've been trying to find people up here that have it.. no luck here either...

i exposed ds about a week and a half ago while we were in houston, and i *think* i saw a couple of spots today....

so if it really is pox, i'll be open for playdates in fort polk, la

Yes, we are looking for it too. My daughter is 2 and a half...wish we could get it over with before the new baby arrives, but doesn't look like that will happen now.

Ooooo! Oooo! Us too! We are moving to Slidell soon and I will drive an hour any direction for Chicken Pox! We *just* had CP in our area a month and a half ago or so and we couldn't go because of colds. In fact, maybe it's still floating around here and I can bring yall some! I'll have to check into that....

Pox party

I'm new to mothering.com, registering JUST so I can be in the know for a chicken pox party. My five-year-old goes to a school where they're pretty tight about keeping ill chilluns out, so I don't anticipate normal exposure in the course of his childhood.

I'm really interested! We'll go anywhere!
