Anyone else reading "Handle With Care" by Jodi Picoult??

I'm about half-way through since I can pretty much only read when I'm pumping at work, but I might try to finish it tonight. Is anyone else reading it and what do you think about it?? I'm having a hard time liking Charlotte. I sympathize with her, but I'm having a hard time liking her.

This is our book club selection for the month! I just downloaded it to Kindle this AM and I hope to get it done by next week. I would love to talk about it as I read it. Right now I have only read the brief synopsis and my initial thoughts are that it seems a lot like My Sister's Keeper and I felt she pulled a total deus ex machina in the end; she built up a real ethical battle and then wimped out with the ending. I hope the same does not happen here.

I can't wait to read this book. Jodi Picoult is one of my favorite authors. I love how she really researches her subject for each book and I feel like I learn a lot about the topics. This book is especially appealing to me. My sister has a 2 y/o daughter with OI, so I'm anxious to see how well Jodi depicts what it's like to love someone living with these struggles... and how well she knows the disease all-together. My mom is ordering it from her book club, I'll let ya know what I think.

I finished the book in one day (well, one very long night).

I, obviously, found it very compelling. I consider many of the "twists of fate" at the end of her novels to be cop-outs, but this one really took the cake. Still, a good read.

I agree. I Finally finished this the other day and I did like it, but I feel kinda like she cop-ed out on the ending. I was also kind of mad that I guessed what was happening before the end.

I just finished it a few days ago and thought the same thing. Her books are all sort of the same so they're kind of predictable. It was alright though.

I am waiting for my mom to finish it so I can have it!

I am on hold to get it from the library. I love her books but I have to say that most of the endings are just very strange in relation to how well the rest of the book is written. It's almost like someone just showed up in her office one day and said, "You must end this book right this minute!" and she had to scramble to just put an end to it. A little odd. But I enjoy them just the same.

I like her books, have read every single one, actually. I made the mistake of reading a whole bunch in a row last year and found that many are similar and many of endings feel forced or rushed. She does say that she knows the ending before she starts the book, but I don't believe her!

Just finished reading it and didn't particularly like it.

WARNING SPOILER BELOW

* I didn't like how it referred to Willow as "you" throughout the book so you could guess that she had passed away from the start.
* I hated the ending (having a similar ending to My sister keeper)
* The person I felt for most was Amelia.
* As a mum I couldn't endear myself to Charlotte no matter how much I tried.
* I hated that Charlotte used "she would have terminated the pregnancy" in the court case when in truth their was no way she would have terminated the pregnancy.
* too much time spent on Marin Gates' story
* I didn't think the recipes throughout were necessary.

I found this book to be a bit frustrating and irritating.
