Have you ever said anything to someone using a "Hooter Hider"? - Page 6

I covered with a blanket at first because I was so self conscious of my belly being exposed. I wan't really that concerned about anyone catching a glimpse of my breasts. I would try to avoid this by wearing nursing tops that didn't require me to raise my top.

Some people have different reasons for choosing to cover up. It's not always due to some sort of "shame" of exposing their breasts or societal pressure not to breastfeed.

I don't understand why we can't just support each other instead of nitpicking about how we choose to NIP. It's very discouraging.
Awesome point that needed to be repeated.

I use one now, but I never have before and won't in most cases when she gets older. Right now, at 5 wks, it's a lot easier to do this than use a blanket etc. It's hard for me to be discreet at this age b/c I'm still squishing my boob to get it in her mouth and she's all over the place. It's not as easy as pulling my bra down and popping baby on. It's actually a LOT easier to use this than a blanket. I do hate that everyone knows what I'm doing though, I've always hated that aspect of covering up when bfing and why I don't do it later on.

Have you ever said anything to someone using one of those things?

Yes, I have. It was somewhere along the lines of.."What a lucky baby I'm glad to see that you breastfeed". I rarely see ANY moms nurse their babies so if it's under a blanket so be it. It's their choice, just like it's mine not to use one.

I'm skipping fwd in this thread...

Nope. I don't mind, don't care, don't worry about it. it's no business of mind whatsoever. I can't for the life of me figure out why someone else's modesty would bother another person. to me that's the ultimate irony of lactivism!
