Aaron was born at 8:25p tonight (the 12th). I have my laptop at the birthing center. He weighed 9lb 6oz and was 21 3/4in. long. I predicted that he would be born ON his due date (and he was) and would weight 9.5. Close!
He was a little distressed at birth. His shoulders got stuck and I had to push and push and push while the nurse and midwife worked on getting him out. It was imperitive that I keep pushing and push hard. It was not fun. He finally came out (she kind of turned him a little getting one shoulder out first and then the other) and thank God there was no fracture at all. He needed a little oxygen (hand pump-nothing major) and they had to suck some mechonium out. His heart rate and respirations remained steady through all of this. He's a strong little man! He's doing GREAT now! Nursing well and very alert. I can't sleep. I can't take my eyes off of him.
I birthed him on my hands and knees and through all of the above, didn't even tear a tiny bit!
It was incredibly painful and my most difficult birth thus far. He was worth it though. I'm just glad it's over and I have him in my arms.
