So i decided on a waterbirth, and want to get a pool. when dd was born, my midwife let me use her super awesome heated aquadoula with the jets and everything. with this birth, i have a midwife who is renting her pool, and we just cant afford it on top of the other costs so we want to buy one of those inflatable ring ones. my question is, if you have used one of these, which did you buy? how deep were the sides, did it collapse if you put pressure on the sides (like if you used the side to lean against, or as support while standing up etc.) and was it big enough for dp to get in with you? how much did it cost? was it deep enough to "float" in? i know you probably didnt float, but was it deep enough that it helped support your weight? any other tips or suggestions on using one of these would be great. thanks!

I got this one--pretty popular around here. It was about $20 and a total bargain! Had to buy an RV hose, but got that at Big Lots for a couple bucks.
I LOVED it! I'm 5'2, and it was deep and wide enough for total comfort during labor. When I sat down, the water was above my boobs, I would say (hard to remember exactly). The bottom is inflatable, so padded and really comfortable. The sides are very sturdy and easily supported my MW's weight...and mine while clambering out holding dd on a very short cord! Very strong. It also held the heat very well.
Best of all, we used it all last summer as a kiddie pool for ds.

To the OP: I got mine at Target so you may be able to buy it there when they start putting summer out again...whenever that is (I'm in FL so it will be soon, lol!).
