keeping supply up during pregnancy

What is the best way to do this if it's possible? Ds is 20m and I'm only 5wks along. With ds1 I had to stop nursing between 4-5m preg because it was just hurting. But he was only nursing at bed time and was fine with stopping.
Ds2 however nurses like 3x a day and is adamant about it. He will climb on my lap, fuss and practically melt into me until I nurse him. Not a problem, but what do I do if my supply drops and it starts hurting and I have to wean him? He does not like cow milk so far, only in his cereal. So I'm looking for ways to maybe keep my supply up or a gentle way to wean him over the next 2 months just in case. It's mainly the morning, night and when he wakes at night that he wants to nurse.

have you read adventures in tandem nursing? It helped me when i became pg when DS was only 5 mos old. He didn't start solids until 8.5 mos. I didn't take anything because I had an incompetent cervix during my first 2 pregnancies. keep going, and if you can keep him comfort nursing, you'll be all set and then you can tandem nurse.

From my research there is really very little to be done. There is one tincture safe in pregnancy- more milk two maybe?

Other than that- nurse nurse nurse. And yeah, pain may get in the way.
