Birthday's in the same month - how commmon is it?

If you have two or three or four kids that have birthday's all within the same month, was it planned or totally by accident? A friend of mine has 10 family members - 3 of which are sibilings - that have b-days in the month of September! It's amazing. I also know another couple who has two kids that have b-days 5 days apart - but one is at the end of June at the other is at the beginning of July. They plan to do completely separate b-day parties, too.

Just curious....mainly because we want to start trying for our 2nd and the next couple of cycles would put my EDD around Christmas and DS's b-day in January.

My younger two have birthdays a week apart in October.
It just sort of happened that way for us. It seemed a good time for us to start trying for another -- breastfeeding was done and I was fertile again and I was feeling normal again. We conceived in January and I guess that's just a cuddly month for us

My brother's kids are also two years and four days apart. I've heard of others, too.

Mine and my two sisters' birthdays are within days of each other. My mother had all C-sections and she was told she had to avoid for at least a year PP, so each time she got off BCP at 12 months, and got pg 3 months later. Sort of chance, but not entirely.

our DD was born near the end of april and DC2 is due end of may. we didn't want them in the same month (because their due dates would have been 2 years and 1 day apart) but i didn't want to pregnant through the summer

I have four siblings. Two of us have bdays in June (18, 21) and two in September (5, 18). The last sister missed having a September bday by less than an hour (Oct 1). That's pretty grouped!

DD's bday is also in September. And MIL's. I guess people in my family like to stay in during the month of December.

I was one of four kids: Feb 12, Mar 1, Mar 27 and Aug 13. I was talking to my sister the other day (our b-day's are in March) and we both agreed that as kids we didn't think it was too close or anything. The only issue was that we were really poor so we never got to do anything for our birthdays besides a special meal and a video.

I'm pregnant with #2 myself and this baby is due 7 days after DS's 2nd birthday. Apparently October is a good month for us

My kids are all spread out, I'll have a Jan, April, and Oct, but in my family we were not spread out. My sister and I have a b-day 10 days apart (we always had separate parties) and my parent's b-days are one day part.

I've run into other issues my my children's b-days. DD1's b-day is at the beginning of Jan so we have run into problems with it following close to the holidays. DD2's B-day is a week apart DH's and right before Halloween so again finding a day to have a party where anyone can come can be fun. This baby is due around easter so apparently I only like to birth around holidays.

Birth Dates

My mom and my aunt (her sister) have the same birth date. DS and our first DD were both born in May. Their birth dates are only 5 days apart. DD #2 and my uncle have the same birth date as well, and we're expecting baby #4 less than a month after DD #2 turns 4.

I think it's got to be pretty common. There's only 12 months, and some are more popular for birthdays than others. More babies are born in the spring for example.

My sister's 3 kid's birthdays are within 10 days of each other at the end of January and beginning of February. She jokes that it is 9 months after opening day for baseball. She usually combines at least two of the birthdays which is good for me since some of my nieces and nephews on the other side of the family were born around then as well.

My second son was born four days before my older son turned four. We didn't plan it that way at all, in fact we were experiencing secondary infertility at the time of conception, and I was seeing an RE at the time.

They just turned 2 and 6 this past week.

DD was born in September, DS in November. Only about 6 weeks apart though. I know a few people who have kids or siblings with birthdays in the same month. There are only 12 of them in the year after all.

My brother and I are almost as far apart as possible Jun 12 and Dec 20.

Chances are 1 in 12, I would think, that you have two children in the same month, assuming you aren't planning your pregnancies. If you are planning, then probably chances are even greater.

So maybe its not TOO amazing...

My oldest and youngest have birthdays in the same month.

My middle one has a birthday a few days before them, in the month before theirs.

Their birthdays all fall within the space of seven days.

And no, we didn't plan that.

Our youngest two are five days apart - end of August and early September. Every other year, they get separate birthday parties - the others, they share. So far, they don't seem to mind (they are 7 and 9).

My dh and his siblings (3 children total) were all born in April.

In my family birthdays are quite grouped.
Me - late April
My sister - early May

My mother - June
My uncles (maternal) nr 2, 3 & 4 - May, June, April
(uncle nr 1 - September)
(My grandmother (maternal) May)

My cousins (2 children of uncle nr 2) - August
(3 children of uncle nr 3) - September, October
(2 children of uncle nr 4) - July, August
(My maternal grandfather - August)
My brother - August

Out of us 13 cousins (3 more, children of uncle 1, are born Jan and Nov), 6 are born in August.

All these cousins + my brother are all quite a bit younger than my sister and me.

My mother claims that nobody plans babies, they just come (I think she means when you would like a baby you just let it happen whenever). DD was planned, and we know to the day when she was conceived. But we didn't exactly plan for her to be born at a particular time, we had just prepared and where ready to conceive then.

We have 2 in Feb and dh in mid Jan. Dd2 and I are in September, ds1, my nan, my cousin and my sister are all within 30 days in May/June.

It was totally unplanned, but apparently I birth in January.

dd1 and ds2 even had the same due date, although they were not born on the same day and they are 20 years apart. The only time I did NOT birth in January was dd2, who was conceived as a result of dd1's being prematurely weaned and taken across the country and blah blah blah everybody's got problems, but the gist of it is that it was the biological equivalent of having a six month old eaten by a saber toothed tiger.

I very much wanted ds1 to be born in February and ds2 to be born in August, but TTC for those birthdates didn't work.

I'm not even going to bother if I try for another baby. Non-May insems are a waste of perfectly good sperm.

I don't know about siblings but we have an amusing situation over here. My birthday is November 9th, my husband's is November 11th and our youngest is November 13. Our anniversary is November 26th and his parents anniversary is November 20th. His grandfathers birthday is November 25th... If anything else happens in November Im going to go insane trying to keep track of it all.

I have 3 brothers. Our birth months are Nov/July/Nov/July and the Nov days are 2 wks apart and the July bdays are 4 days apart. None of the pregnancies were planned except me. I'm the first Nov.

We haven't celebrated bdays since I was probably 2 or 3.

My brothers were born within the same month, 4 days short of being exactly 10 years apart.
