Twin names? - Page 4

I have twin aunts named Gaye and Faye. My grandparents liked to rhyme names, apparently because I also have aunts Linda and Brenda (not twins).

We had known for a long time what we would eventually name our son, but when we found out we were having twins, we could not agree on a B/G combo. If we were having two boys, they would have been Silas and Avery, girls would have been Iris and Sylvia. We weren't interested in rhyming names, and Silas and Iris wouldn't do, and though we contemplated Silas and Sylvia, we just couldn't do the same first letter. After rejecting many of each others suggestions, we agreed on Mira. Silas and Mira, not at all matchy, and don't necessarily even go together. It's funny when people hear her name, they get it, but when they read it many pronounce it Myra (which would have actually "gone" with Silas!).

As a side note, OP, my name is also Veronica, but I've never gone by it. My sisters are Elisabeth and Kathrine, which all seem to go together, but we go by...Nikki, Liz and Katie.

I have a twin brother and I guess our names match?

My name: Rianne Lynne
his name: Trevyn LaNeal

So we were always Rianne(ryan) and Trevyn(like tevin but with a "R")

My girls are named Lucasta Posey and Romilly Violet. Lucasta and Romilly don't match...Lucasta has been my favourite name since I fell pregnant with Alice (who is named after her Aunt Alice), and I finally told my partner that I was getting my Lucasta whether he liked it or not! Romilly was just the only other girl name we could agree on. Their middle names match in that they're both floral, but it wasn't a conscious decision. I don't know where their second names came from!

They do follow the theme in my family that all the kids have ls in their name--Libby (Liberty), Alice, Julian, Lucasta, Romilly.

Charlotte and Juniper. aside from being family/religious names like their sisters (we also have Mary Margaret and Esther Juliana), they aren't related. Juniper Veronica and Charlotte Adele...

Oh, but I will add, that we planned to name our twin boys (because we WILL have twin boys dammit ) Connor and Murphy .. and if anyone gets that, then you are just awesome!
That was our long standing joke when I was pregnant with Charlotte and Juniper. Too bad they were girls!

All right, I love names and have to weigh in on this thread. My cousins are:

Nicole Justine and Justin Nicholas

Yuck. Doesn't help that I don't like them very much. I love my other cousins:

Cara and Bridget

When I found out I was having girls (a huge shock to me, since I expected boys), I lobbied hard for these names. But I love the ones we came up with:

Annabel Eve and Isadora Rose. "Belle" and "Izzy."

Like Lex Beach, one of our rules was a one syllable middle name. Funny, Izzy's name is just perfect, in full or short. Belle, whose name we came up with first, is just right but I'm not sure she's an Annabel. And the middle names are too much for 14 month olds. Maybe they'll grow into them . . .

We just found out were having twins but had talked about names for them just incase before I even got pregnant.

For Girl/Boy its Molly and Desmond
For Boy/Boy its Desmond and Maxwell
For Girl/Girl its Molly and Penelope

I'm not a huge fan of matchy names though

Are you a huge fan of the Beatles? They wrote that song Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da, with Desmond and Molly Jones as the main characters in it. And they also wrote Maxwell's Silver Hammer...maybe you have to be of a certain vintage to get the references though.

We had the hardest time coming up with names for our b/b twins. We have an older son also, so two more boys names were hard, but we decided on Spencer and Sean. Same first initial, but not the same sound. I actually didn't even plan on same first initial, but these were the names we liked the best Fun thread to read.

Congratulations!::

If you changed up your b/g names to Desmond & Penelope then you'd have a cool LOST reference!

Yes, thats acutally how we picked the names. So their full names would be Desmond Jones and Molly Mckenzie. Or Penelope Lane and Maxwell Edison. We are dorks but thats ok

2+twins~ I thought of the Lost thing too, but more people would probably catch on to that!

I thought of this thread when we were changing one of the twin's names. We were settled on Byrd but my husband wanted Billie for the other twin. We compromised with Willa and calling her Billie. So we'll have a Byrd and a Willa called Byrdie and Billie. :

But dorks are cool - we're like the new black! When I was pg with my twins, I only half joked to dh that if we had boy/girl twins we could name them Xander & Anya (anyone get that reference?). We had b/b though so it didn't pan out - still used Xander as a mn for one of them though.

Okay, I've been lurking on this thread since it's orgination! So, finally, here are all the twins I know:

Aunts (my mom's sisters): Carla and Clara
Cousins: Keira and Leila (sadly, Leila didn't make it )
Friends: Kim and Kelly
Friends: Angie and Pam, whom it took me forever to realize were actually Pamela and Angela
Coworker: Pammy and Tammy (Yep, actual names, although Tammy didn't make it, so a few days later, parents changed surviving twin's name to Pamela)
Friend's twins: Ashley and Makayla (YAY!! Not matching names!)
Coworker's triplets: Aaron, Alex, and Andrea (in the mom's defense, all her kids have "A" names, not just her triplets!)
