Ds loves baseball and both dh and I are pretty big fans of the SF giants but to be honest I think dh and ds love it in large part for their mathematical minds and the stats of the game. Ds played boys and girls club non-competitive league for two years but this year begged for the more official rule following little league. Unfortunately because of the very strict rules about geographical boundaries we were forced out of the league with all of his friends and into a very rural more conservative league. The people have been nice to us but they are constantly controlling the kids every move, making them run laps (7 year olds) for talking or not following directions and they all stand around chewing tobacco.....etc.
We are happy to say ds has so far maintained his cheerful, exhuberant child self but we are concerned about the outcomes of this league on him and on us. He is such a rule following guy he won't go back to boys and girls club rules so other than surviving this year and diversifying his interests we are not sure what to do. I was proud of dh for not walking away when he showed up to the field where everyone was decked out in Dodgers uniforms....no offense to SoCal fans....but we are in the heart of Giants territory. Thoughts? Perspectives? Other experiences?
Thanks!
