what type of audio books do you listen to? how much do you want to spend? i like audible and find it very worth the money i spend but if i was just looking for say childrens stories i might just get a free subscription to storynory podcast. actually there are tons of great podcasts and i think they are always free. not audio books but really fun to listen to.

I get audiobooks from paperbackswap.com -- they cost 2 credits.

i listen to a lot of podcasts..have for years. and i agree..they are fun.

but i am in teh car more and more and would like to get through some audio books also. i do paperbackswap.com, but dont find that many on CD that i want to read (maybe i need to look more but i dont have a cassette player in my car).

im sure audiobook.com is worth it...im just trying not to spend any more money on books right now...so that expense is not something I want to incur at the moment.

just looking for something else, free preferably.

Our public library has tons on their website that you can download for free with a library card. There are far more online than in the physical collection.

Once they're cds, can't you load them into itunes or a similar program and make them ipod compatible? That has worked for me on occasion. Forgive me if that is a dumb question.
