phone no workie right now....I have it in a bag of rice in the sun to dry...blah

I like the name shea...we still haven't agreed on a boy name...but did I tell you all this??? dh's aunt (like his mom) embroidered a whole bunch of girl stuff with the name we had picked...but I had kind of decided I wasn't 'in love' with anymore..oh well, I do still really like it...and dh said but what if it's a boy???? She said she has the stuff in blue too and will do it all again! LOL

[QUOTE=lilgreen;13394373]goodmomma76 - That bites. I second this! Hope it drys out and works!

Shineliketheson... it sounds like you're ready for this baby! You sound so on top of everything - way to go!! I am too ready, now I'm just waiting waiting waiting! To get this way though, I have neglected household chorse so Dh has had to do them..oh well... I did clean the bathroom today, not by choice, the toiliet overflowed and I had to clean the entire bathroom bottom to top to be able to feel it was truly cleaned. I'm exhausted now. But I also feel the "nesting" urge to keep on cleaning...I hope it sticks around to do a little every day for the next few days. Dh will be soooo happy!!!

Azreial - yay for homebirth readiness!! I second this! Every women should get to have their ideal birth and especially the place and person helping deliver!!!

I have a question - has anyone else's bbs gotten sore again? Mine just recently have gotten quite sore again and I'm wondering if its happened to anyone else. I'm guessing it has to do with milk (colostrum) production but just curious to see what everyone else has to say.

Not mine. Colstrum production would make sense. How many weeks are yoU? I'm only 35.5 so my body is likely not yet at that stage.

Yes mine have, actually DD just pushed on them and I winced... ETA: I think everyone is different, as I'm only 35 weeks.

I'm just about 37 weeks (today based on LMP which Im going by now haha).
mine aren't sore yet...had that a couple of weeks ago though when they were dry and cracking! But fixed that with some lansinoh! But I am getting nauseous the last couple of days, and the pooing has started this afternoon, along with the tiredness, and yet the sense of urgency to get things done...I wonder if those are signs??? Looking in my book....

Oh...husbands and their 'opinions'

goodmomma76 - ARGGHH Totally Lame. Sorry. My DH always says if the phone was still attached to the wall like it used to be it would be much harder to drop it in the toilet (or in his case run it through the wash, which he's done on more than one occasion).

For me...38 weeks today:: Not too long now. Baby's still ridin' high in my estimation, though.

A couple of questions for wool using mamas...already tried to get an answer on the diapering board, but nada.

Have you ever used only Eucalan to lanolize? I did some diaper covers in Eucalan yesterday and they don't have that grease to them that the lanolized covers I bought on e-bay had... Also, would Eucalan be okay for puddle pads?

Thanx!!

Oh gosh, mine were leaking colostrum in the second trimester last time, and were sore throughout, and I can express colostrum now and yes, they are sore. I am at 36 weeks but this started two weeks ago. Totally, totally possible. I know a woman who was wearing breast pads at 20 weeks!!!

Sheesh...somehow missed the entire conversation on colostrum..weird. Mine are sore and I can express now, too...not much, but definitely there. Glad the girls are working.

I haven't used Eucalan I have some other stuff that is specifically for lanolizing. Isn't Eucalan just a wash with some lanolin in it? You may need to get something with more in it to lanolize. The stuff I use is called, "Woolcure" by ImseVimse and it has directions right on the bottle how to lanolize, so it's specifically for that. But this is the only bottle that I've needed, so I don't have much experience!

Hmm...I just did some googling and I think you're right. Have to go lanolize those a bit more.

Thanks!

So there's a part of Peanut that is pressing on, oh I don't know, my bladder or something? Seemingly front and center, down low -- sometimes more middle than front. It's pinchy, sore and difficult to alleviate. Very uncomfortable. *grumble*

I have ZERO energy, but I feel like I have so much to do around here...
:yawning:

Ds was asleep by 7:30, which is pretty early for him, so now I'm just vegging and not wanted to use my time wisely

I just buy a bottle of liquid lanolin at whole foods- I think its the "home health brand" and its a couple of dollars for a lot of lanolin. I pour boiling water into the sink, mix in a dollop of the lanolin, then fill the rest of the way with hot tap water, and let the cover sit in there for a good long while. Seems to work just fine. I am sure it would work for puddle pads. (Speaking of which...I am on the lookout for a cheap wool blanket to use on our bed! my son has one on his bed "just in case" and it worked like a charm when he had a naptime "accident" a while back).

Mind you, I am washing a wool cover for a 4yo who pees at night sometimes as infrequently as once every 2 weeks so I might have to reevaluate with a baby in f/t dipes (though a neighbor loaned me 24 fuzzi bunz each in size small and medium so I will also be trying those out... the seem to me 100% synthetic fabrics which I am not sure about, but hey, they are free, and I know people love them)

I am trying a lot of new diaper things this time around- I didn't use wool until my son was pretty old b/c it seemed to expensive, and I was skeptical, but now that I know about sewing my own soakers and longies out of felted sweaters- woohoo! Its so cheap!

Jumping on the wool band wagon here- I had a question too that didn't get answered. Hope you ladies don't mind me asking- can you make dipes out of wool sweaters too? Or is it just covers? I have a pattern for a soaker I want to try but also have been told I may need more sm/newborn dipes (most of mine are onesize) and want to try my own.

Colostrum- can express a bit and the ladies are achey to the touch. Been that way since begining of 3rd tri.

Have my 36 wk appt today.Sure I will be having my GBS swab and going to ask to check my cervix. Been using EPO for the past few days want to know if there's anything going on down there. Hoping with all the CX and pain for the past week and a half somethings going right. Also have a BBP US so we'll see how big he's grown in the past month- thinking about 6 and 1/2 lbs now was 4 and 1/2!

warning: kvetching

yup bb's definately sore. Have been leaking since week 27, but now I am a faucet at night, and am having to wear pads.
I had an appt yesterday: tested GBS+, am still 1 cm but 70% effaced.
and kiddo's alot lower too: which doesnt explain the raging heartburn and the foot in the ribs, but hey, I guess with a short torso, there's not much room to start with.
So, hanging out on the yoga ball, doing circle 8's, eating lots of curry, taking EPO, walking etc.
Anyone who's been through this before, did you get exhausted and extremely cranky as the time was near? Today I think I may have to just go back to bed: have dumped soup on the floor, broken 2 cups, an am on the verge of tears pretty much constantly.
Is this just normal fatigue?
That and the fact that I just want everyone to leave me alone: my sister's ehre from france, and has sweetly offered to tkae pictures. I'm ashamed to say I really jsut want to stay home in sweatpants and sew and nap.
Definately should make the effort though.

I am definitely finding myself more easily irritatated and cranky lately. Lucikly its not constant, but its there.

Dawn - maybe vegging is the best way to use your time right now .

I had my 37 week appt yesterday. This baby is riding high still. My cervix is soft but closed and high (I think). I am on track for my April 10th due date. I've been so active, DTD and just started taking EPO last night but I decided that until he's ready he's just going to stay put (obvioulsy). At this point since I'm JUST full term ( I have to say he might just not be ready yet and I know the longer he cooks the stronger he will be. I'm trying to really enjoy these last few weeks where I don't have to share him .

I have a sort of tmi/sort of funny question to ask. Sometimes when I pass gas or even burp I realized last night I think I startle the baby because he jumps a little! Does this happen to anyone else?
