hemorrhoids experience? TMI maybe...

Oh and if anyone has experience with hemorrhoids being prolapsed and irritating and going into labor with this, let me know...I'm curious as to what's going to happen with that...I can't even pee without them pushing out and being super sore. TMI, I know. Pushing out a baby, though? Oh jeez, I feel like my anus might just completely fall out and remain on the outside at that point. I have been doing frequent and loose bm's for over a week now, and actually that seems to aggravate it more so...I have to think its because of gaining an extra 50 lbs on my little body. I am normally 110-115 range, and am now somewhere in the 160 area. Its gotta be contributing to the pressure down there...

I'm trying to do kegels a bit more, andof course using tucks pads to alleviate soreness and help push them back inside gently...hoping that helps, but if anyone has any suggestions for labor, I'd love to hear those, too...thats what I'm getting concerned about.

Oh, I'm sorry! I have had this problem in my final trimester with each child. I'm convinced it's due to the baby and also hormones. But amazingly, it's always gone away before the birth and I've never had to push with that irritation- you've got a couple weeks - you'll probably feel much better by then too.

Don't sit on a hard chair or bench, lie on your side whenever possible.
Use witch hazel on a cotton ball multiple times per day.
Lay down with an ice pack if you can stand it.
Pelvic rocks and kegels.
Take Vit E orally and can poke one open and apply to the problem as well.
Sit in a hot bath.
Keep things moving along -- take I take magnesium, drink chloropyll, eat flax seed and lots of fruits, veggies and water.
You'll probably feel better in a week.

When your pushing stage does arrive, have a caring bystander press on problem area with hot compresses.

I have no suggestions for labor but I did deal with really bad hemorrhoids a few weeks ago. Sitting hurt, walking hurt. I wasn't so much nervous about the pushing stage of labor in that condition as being able to relax and get comfortable in early labor. It wasn't even an issue of constipation or loose stools, just the extra pressure from baby.

I tried every natural remedy known to man for weeks with no luck so I eventually caved and used Prep H/Tucks suppositories. I figured the general pregnancy discomforts were enough for the next month without adding hemorrhoids into the mix. Within a week the swelling was down to a level where they don't bother me anymore.

Good luck. Hope you feel better soon.

uuuugh i hate hemmeroids! i swear it was all i coud talk about for like 3 weeks when i was pg. with dd. if i had to labor with them, i would (and do anyways) tell the doc/midwife to support my anal area. they just apply counter pressure to your bum while you push and it prevents them from coming out. i have permanent hemmeroids (that dont hurt but are always there, inside) that i worry about during labor so yeah, i just pretty much demant a hot cloth and constant counter pressure. it works!

With hemmeroids that bad I would talk to your dr or midwife about getting a prescription for some suppositories or external meds. I would also make sure you start using the rx as soon as you can after labor. I always have had horrible hemmeroids before labor and nightmarish ones after (some the size of plums! after ds2). I always waited a couple of days before asking for an rx, but used one right away after dd. It prevented them from getting so large and made my recovery SO much more comfortable. Also sitting in the tub with shallow hot hot water for 10 minutes or so a couple times a day really helps with the discomfort. Oh, and the cool gel pads that you can wear after labor are another thing that really helps keep the swelling down. Good luck!
