My baby started showing symptoms of teething at only 2 months old. He would drool a lot and would chew on my finger when I'd put it in his mouth. He also resisted nursing. One week he gradually would go longer and longer between nursing sessions, sometimes as long as 6 or 7 hours. I've heard of nursing strikes and chalked it up to something i was eating that was causing his tummy to hurt or something, making him not want to nurse. Well, I cut literally everything out of my diet and discovered that he had a caffeine sensitivity. Great, so I gave up caffeine. Within three days, the sleeplessness was gone and he seemed like a perfectly happy baby, napping normally and eating eating every 3 or 4 hours. Literally the next day, he started resisting nursing again. He would act tired, but it would be a struggle to get him to sleep. When I would swaddle him, he'd fight it and make long grunting noises. So, I gave him some teething tablets (homeopathic). Within minutes, he'll fall asleep and wake up like 45 minutes later to nurse. While he's still somewhat sleepy, he'll nurse, otherwise it's a struggle again. Could he be teething already? If the homeopathic tablets work, does that mean that he is in fact teething? How do I make sure he doesn't go 6 or 7 hours again between nursing? He's never had a bottle, by the way.
