Heart to heart slings

Hi mamas,

I have the chance to buy a used heart to heart sling and I wanted to know if anyone has used them before....if so, the pros and cons of the sling would be greatly appreciated. I tried one on at the store with a doll and it seemed perfect for hands-free nursing for a newborn, but that was with a doll!! I have a toddler to chase around so I am looking for a comfy hands-free sling, especially for nursing. Any help would be so helpful

TIA

I'm not a fan. I do NOT like highly padded ring slings. I much prefer ring slings which have no padding at all, as they cup your shoulder and don't ride up into your neck, and you can actually adjust the sling to make it support the baby properly.

I will say that I haven't managed hands-free nursing in a carrier with this one (now 5 weeks) but I have definitely managed only 1 hand while walking around, so it's still an improvement.

Some people love them, but honestly, they're not something I'd recommend. The heavy padding in the shoulder can make it hard to get them positioned right and makes them hot - padding is less important than spreading the weight across your shoulder and back and too much padding makes it harder. I'm also not a fan of the padded rails because it limits how much you can adjust, the closed tail because it makes it harder to tighten the rails (top and bottom edges) independently or the acrylic rings
