This seems to be my impression in general. I have the feeling that for many parents who are concerned about vax, the Wakefield study published in the Lancet and the subsequent fury around it, have very little to do with personal decisions made. I get the feeling that very hardlined provax (for lack of a better term) people somehow got the wronge end of the stick and think that this one study is the crux of the problem when parents choose not to vaccinate their children.
Shooting down Dr Wakefield isn't going to curb any questioning of vaccination. It's just not going to work like that. Not in a society where people have a choice. The issues are broader than that and much more difficult to give honest answers for..... maybe I'll draw up another poll
