i don't remember really from right before rowan's birth. but i think that i wasn't in true labor but they pushed me along with pitocin, thinking i was failing to progress when really he just wasn't ready yet.
with ava, i had been pooping a bit more in the days preceding. then i took castor oil on the morning of and about 30 seconds later (in other words, not related to the castor oil itself), i lost my plug and immediately started having contractions. that was about 10:30am, and she was born at 6:16 that night.
this time around, i've been having prodromal contractions every night, LOTS AND LOTS of mucous (but no blood), and consistent pressure. i've also been pooping non-stop. like 8-10 times a day. not a lot, obviously, but...enough.
riley has yet to make her appearance.

I was induced with my first.
My second I woke up that morning and felt great. I was 38w6d. Around 1130I lost some plug and had diarrhea. No blood in it though. I got all excited. We were in the car to go to the park when I got my first contraction at 229pm. I knew it was a real one. It was nothing like any of the Bh, cramps I had already been feeling. It felt like a rubberband pulling on my lower back adn then would carry to the front and dissipate. I gave birth at 713pm.

DS was born the day after his due date. I remember just being blue and then totally resigned to two more weeks by the time we went to bed that night.
My water breaking woke me up at 2AM the next morning, 25 hours later he was born.
I should go back and read my journal, I don't think I had any other real signs...maybe some bloody show like a week before, but nothing that day or in the days before.

I had just quit work and then the pain started 3 weeks before baby was due. I was miserable for a week. I had cramps/back pain. Couldn't sit or stand for long just had to keep changing positions. Then night before birth I finally took a tylenol pm at request of my midwife and DH put pressure on my back till I fell into a deep sleep. Then woke up at 3 and went potty and felt fine...went back to sleep and woke at 8 to my water breaking. Hard ctx hit and I was in transition within 30 min...baby was out 4 hours from water breaking. Never had bloody show, diahrea or vomiting...none of the typical signs which is why my doula didn't come over that night cause she said "your in prelabor not real labor" Well now I beg to differ and my doula now will come whenever I ask her to (she can always go back home if not needed).
So I'm depressed now, cause I keep thinking it'll go the same way and I should be feeling miserable at this point, but not feeling a thing!

I was having very mild prodromal labor for the last few weeks and had been dilated to 3cm for a full week before labor started. I'd also been losing mucous plug for weeks, so no warning with that either. Even had contractions that would start and stop for that last week. I slept really bad the night before labor started, but I think that had more to do with being so completely done and miserable with work than impending labor. The big clue for me was my water breaking but even then I was still somewhat in denial and figured it would probably just seal back up and I'd still have a whole month (or more) to go. I didn't really want to admit that I was in labor until I hit transition

So yeah...sorry I'm no help

secondimpression, your water broke and you had a whole month before you went into labor? Did I read that right?
For me, it was different with each one. First was iduced, so no real indicator there.
#2 bloody show
#3 not much, I was in denile walked a lot and kept telling myself that I was going through bh the whole time. She was 10.5 born in two min. pain free at home.
#4 I just had a weird feeling. Mucoused a lot, still another pain free labor. Those are actully frustrating!
I WANT TO KNOW THAT I KNOW I'M IN LABOR AND READY this time!
I'll be happy to trade my pain free labors for one of your (anyone here) rock on rock hard labors! I'm in the mood to party!
