Chicken pox - Page 3

We have four kids with chicken pox right now that should be contagious over the weekend. We are in Gilbert. I know I'm new here but Noelia and I know each other IRL. If you'd like to come over you can email me.

We have round two of chicken pox. Just one kiddo this time. She'll be contagious for another couple of days.

I would be there in a heartbeat but after reading the quote that was shared, now I'm nervous.

My son is 4, daughter 2 and baby almost 8 months. He is breastfeeding so I thought he would be fine.

Maybe I'll wait a few years.

By SundayCrepes on page 2 of this thread.

What do you guys think?

amcal, if you are not exposing locally, I'm assuming you are doing it through the mail? Maybe your children are simply not being exposed at all?

How terribly ironic! Funny that you tried so ahrd to avoid and yet so many of us are trying desperately to find it. Glad they were OK. Hope it was serious enough if that makes any sense.

Duh, yes it was your quote. Sorry.

I think we have chicken pox here in Gilbert, AZ. We exposed to someone local 10 days ago and this morning my 17 month old has a little raised blister on her neck! I'll wait for a few more spots to show up to confirm, but its looking good.

Assuming we have them, we are willing to share.

I debated whether we wanted to expose during flu season but decided to go ahead (obviously) - I did reduce her public exposure during the incubation period to lessen her chance of getting both the flu and the pox at the same time.

Update:
We're hanging out with 2 spots and a low grade fever today. I am 99% sure its chicken pox. What are the odds of her getting 2 blistery spots from something else 11 days after we exposed to chicken pox? And the 2 spots have progressed exactly like a CP should, first red dot, then blister, then today crusty and trying to scab.

I talked to the mom I exposed from and she said her kids had the same pattern. Less then 5 spots for a few days with a low fever and then a sudden explosion of spots. So, fingers crossed for that explosion of spots in the next few days.

Kids are supposed to be most contagious before most of the spots appear, so if anyone wants to expose now its fine with me- or you can wait to make sure more spots develop. (If I was nearby and wanting them I might expose twice- once now and once in a few days- I guess living father away I might wait for more spots to appear to make absolutely sure.)

My house is not good for a pox party right now (new very excitable jumping, mouthing rescue dog), but I am willing to bring DD to someone else's house if it isn't too far or could maybe meet at an unpopulated area of a local park- away from the play equipment so we don't expose anyone who doesn't want it.

Slow but steady progression of pox here, woke up to a couple on her back and diaper area. Still has a low fever. Now she has a few more spots on her neck and many more in the diaper region. -Still not "covered" in pox but should definitely be contagious.

We look forward to seeing you tomorrow. If we catch them, we will be will to share as well.
For anyone else interested: We are meeting tomorrow (Friday) at nonpopulated area of a park in Mesa, close to the 60, tomorrow afternoon. PM for details if you want to join us.

DD finally had an explosion of spots today on her head and torso, new spots have been appearing rapidly all day.

Would it be wrong to take a marker and connect the ones on her chest that look like the big dipper?

We are day 12 post exposure and still no spots. Please keep your : that one of my 3 little ones develops them soon.

If we manage to break out, we are more than happy to do an exposure up in N. Phoenix.

I am in N Phx and would love to know. We exposed 27 days ago but it didn't work. It was our second try.
This was our first exposure but since it was 3 kiddos, I am reallllly hoping at least one of them break out.

 I was hoping you had it so I could play with you again. We still don't have spots here and it would seem like it isn't going to happen this time around. I don't know that nursing would prevent it at our little ones ages, supposedly that protection is supposed to stop around a year : What do I know tho' :

I only have my youngest nursing so that should have left my boys wide open.

no spots here...please let me know if someone else catches them.
