Hi Lisa,
We've used calvert for the past 2 years and I really enjoy it. I needed something all laid out for me and this was it. They also give you a lot of hands on ideas and manipulatives. I always think it's cheaper than private school.

I haven't used it yet, but saw the entire curriculum and liked how it was laid out. I don't have the money to buy it and will have to use Oak Meadow which was given to me.
As soon as I have the money, I WILL buy it. I think you would be pleased, if you like having a curriculum.
I am one of those "keep it on the shelf in case we need it" curriculum users. I won't use it daily.

I have mixed feeling on Calvert. While I needed some organization, I found it too organized... it was hard to move stuff around, so unless you start it right around mid Aug the scheduling for the holidays and seasons will be completely off.
Also if you covered everything it says to in one day you would be spending IMHO way too much time on book work.
Also while I could see how it's methods would work for somekids, DD did not take to their method of teachign reading. The other subjects she liked, but she would cry when it was time to cover reading. She was very happy to see the teachers guide and the reading materials go into the trash.
