I voted other. I would politely decline I think. I haven't had to deal with that sort of thing yet thankfully.

If your kids get invited to a party at a public party-oriented place--think Pump it Up, Chuck E. Cheese, arcade, McDonalds--how do you feel about it?

We wouldn't attend a party at Chuck E. Cheese, or McDonalds. Probably also not an arcade.

Pump it up? I gather that is a bounce house thing? Probably would attend, I however wouldn't leave my child there.

I would avoid all of these places during flu season though. Yep I'm the big buzzkill.

I hate Chuch E. Cheese with a living breathing undying passion. I've also never not once taken my children to play at an eating establishment. Putting my chilren into greasy (fast food and indoor play areas do not mix imo) germy plastic playgrounds is something I just can't do. I'm also one of those people who's kids have never touched the toys/play area at the doctors office. I do have OCD, and it just goes to far for me. I realize I'm not normal.

At this point it would be the first option as I am friends with all of his friends moms-so it would be about socializing and watching the kidlets. But I chose the second option thinking more into the future. I don't know that I will always enjoy these things, but it is part of being a parent and I have no problem going. I don't know how old K will have to be for me to be comfortable leaving him alone at one of these establishments.

It's not the first thing on my "I'd like to do this today" list, but I'm fairly neutral about it. We always stay. Sometimes it's kind of fun to chat with the other parents, etc.

If DS isn't invited, DH usually goes and I stay home with DS.

Not sure what we would do with a party at McDonald's, though. We're vegans and can't eat anything on their menu (except ketchup, maybe ). It would probably depend on how well we knew the person throwing it. If it was just a random classmate that DSD wasn't that close to, we might be "busy." But do to all of the other options for kids' parties these days, I don't think that McD's is nearly the party destination that it was when I was a kid.

I'm a big CSI fan and I haven't seen that one...now I really want to!

oh and I have not yet faced these scenarios....I do love kids parties, but I think McDo's or Chuck E. Cheese might push my personal tolerance a bit...it would depend on how close we are to the inviting family.
