We welcomed our new son on Friday! He came 10 days early and was 8 lbs 10 oz. and 20 inches long! I am so in love.

He has a short frenulum and a recessed jaw, so nursing is tearfilled for all involved...but we are pushing through.

I'm so, so, so happy we have him in our lives!

Congratulations! What a beautiful boy!
Will they cut the frenulum to improve his latch?
I hope BFing gets easier for you both,

Congrats! beautiful baby! Are you working with good lactation consultant? Try to get to a La Leche League meeting as well...you'll find amazing support to help you guys get through this tough time in the beginning...hopefully things improve soon, though, but if not - stick with it, its so worth the tears and frustration now.

Congrats! :::

They probably would cut it if I put my foot down but doc is pretty confident it'll work itself out.

They were super helpful in showing me the breast shield. We are pushing through and will stick with it. EBFing is the only option. I went through the same thing with my oldest but without the sheild and we had a wonderful nursing relationship after a super tough start. I'm hopeful.

Congratulations! Good luck on the nursing issue. Ds2 has a heart shaped toungue from a short frenulum and we worked it out, no problem
