Front vs. Back wearing Ergo

Thread Starter
I have been wearing DS in an Ergo on the front since he was about 5 mo. He's almost 20 months now. I don't like having him on the back because I don't like not being able to see him, but I'm wondering if wearing him on the front now that he is bigger is a bad idea (ergonomically speaking). He weighs about 26 lbs. We he and I be more comfortable with him on the back?

Do any of you wear your toddlers in an ergo on the front?

I would try it again and see how you both like it. Personally, I very occasionally wear my 30 lb 23 month old on the front (in an Ergo or other carrier) but it's when he or I want to snuggle, it's definitely harder than having him on my back.

I find back carries much more comfy, he's secure, and I can get a lot more done w/o his body (and big head ) in my way.

I don't think it's bad for his physical development or anything to have him on your front all the time, I do wonder if he strains at all trying to see stuff since he's facing in; whereas on your back he will have a nice view of the world around him.
